Congratulations to Brother Smoot, and I hope he'll update and adorn his CV immediately this ornament.

And it's only a matter of time before it becomes ok to pass it in just a blue dress. The road to apostasy is paved with apologetic intentions.

It sure is statistically more likely she is!

It's quite an honor, and probably even more prestigious than a Phd. Guaranteed he'll get a good job after with this.

Is it really any surprise that their latest venture is named Interpreter

That's pretty profound, I never thought of that.

Does it really matter to God what coloured shirt someone wears when they pass the sacrament? Is someone really of morally dubious character if they have tattoos?

I think these questions by Steve Smoot are really good. It helps the members to think rather than being a victim of unquestioning obedience to a cultural set of values. The yearning for things to make sense is not exclusive to internet Mormons, but possibly exposure to more ideas lets them vocalize it better. The sublime should not have equal footing with the silly in religious practices.

The trouble with exposing independent apologetic thought to public attention is the increased likelihood they will have to recant. It would be unFAIR for Steve Smoot, at some future date, to be forced into a star chamber inquiry at BYU by the malevolent forces of blind obedience who wish to perpetuate the tyranny of the pure and delightsome shirt color.

Perhaps The President and CEO of Cassius University along with Dr Shades and Dean Robbers can arrange an appropriate venue to bestow the award on Brother Smoot. Of course past awardees would be invited (if they are still in the church), as well as Dr Gee (by the way how the hell is that pronounced). Contact with the FP could lead to it providing a small piece of papyrii from the "missing" long scroll mounted on one of the Kinderhook plates to give to Brother Smoot. No expense IMHO should be spared to honor brother Smoot- I will also add two tickets to the Book of Mormon Musical for Brother Smoot and a friend to cap the award ceremony.

just waxing not eloquent or funny

Stunning!

I think I have seen a vision of the future of Mopologetics.

A truly edgy 21st-century approach to defending the faith and winning hearts and minds.

Wow. . . like Dean Robbers, I too never made that connection.

Brilliant insight, Doctor Scratch!
