Just want to point out how many Republicans have been saying that the Bar Association's recommendations don't mean much. If you don't have guidelines, this is what a politician can throw into the judicial system.

The American Bar Association has repeatedly said that this candidate was unqualified. Republicans ignored their advice, and have spoken out against the ABA.

If it is liberal bias to say that a man who knows nothing about the LIFETIME position for which he is about to be appointed should not be appointed to that position, then call me a liberal. This man should have been eliminated before the process started. The fact that was actually in front of a Senate Committee is incredible. The fact that he thought he could do the job is frightening. And the fact that Trump nominated him is unconscionable.

Trump wants to appoint as a judge, with the power to send ordinary Americans to jail or to deprive them of money and property, a man who clearly knows virtually none of the stuff that a junior trial lawyer needs to know, let alone someone vested with the powers of a judge.

How has this happened, do you think? What kind of consultation process in the White House can have led to such a decision, which completely disrespects the whole basis of legal and constitutional government on which the US and its liberties are founded? Law is being replaced by personal caprice and political loyalty.

Worse, how can it be that a person who has been so publicly exposed as utterly unfitted for the post he aspires to has not withdrawn his candidature?
