You said what?

Post by _subgenius »

Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill says he is investigating concerns of voter fraud in last week’s Senate special election, even though he has publicly said there is no evidence of it.

Merrill, a Republican, told Fox10 Monday he was investigating a viral clip of a Doug Jones supporter on election night. In a spontaneous interview in the moments after the race was announced for Jones, the supporter spoke about getting people out to vote.

“We came here all the way from different parts of the country as part of our fellowship and all of us pitched in to vote and canvas together and we got our boy elected,” the supporter, who is not identified, says.

Yep, the vast conspiracy of busing in thousands of voters, spread wide over all the precincts with all of the funds for said buses, drivers, food and lodging would have gone off without a hitch if not for that one over-excited conspirator saying he and his cohorts had committed said fraud.

A generally fairer reading of his words, my edits of course:
“We came here all the way from different parts of the country as part of our fellowship and all of us pitched in to vote(where applicable) and canvas together(along with other things, like manning phone banks and donating) and we got our boy elected,” the supporter, who is not identified, says.

I'm fine with Merrill looking into this if he wants to but I'll go ahead and suggest that he isn't going to find any evidence of a voter fraud, tin-foil hat explanation for Moore's lost. He was a toxic candidate up against a strong candidate in a climate that is currently unfavorable to the GOP winning elections. I'm sure the irony of you rejecting Russian interference (questions of collusion aside) despite mountains of evidence while but seeming to give this some credence will be lost on you.

I perhaps think the same thing the SOS is thinking, which is when an apparent non-resident of Alabama claims to have voted in an Alabama election that perhaps describes voter fraud.

How is it that you imposing additional text is "fairer"?
Is it not the "most fair" to just read the words as they are and without embellishment of bias? Ergo, the SOS seeking clarification rather than relying upon an obvious spin doctoring, as you have demonstrated?

Likewise,
“We came here all the way from different parts of the country as part of our fellowship and all of us pitched in to vote(fraudulently) and canvas together(along with other things, like registering dead people and voting in a State within which we do not have a legal right to vote) and we got our boy elected,” the supporter, who is not identified, says.
