The Trump presidency isn't about one man occupying the White House but an ideal that is destroying entire departments with abandon. The accounts by Obama staffers waiting for their Trump counterparts to attend briefings and be brought up to speed on everything from international relations to the EPA to homeland security, only to have no one show or one person with an arrogance and inattention is the stuff history writes about in hindsight as, "And this is when crap went downhill..."
We can not tolerate the idea that entertainers and business people are defacto fit to govern. “F” that. “F” that. “F” that. No side is inherently better fit such that their entertainers and businesspeople could step in and do it right. The people are gone or leaving who would be necessary to rebuild after Trump and to bring in an inexperience rebuilder with all the right traits doesn't solve that.
I don't have any counterarguments, nor do I wish to disagree. You make good points.

I think it's funny that when I first read this, my brain inserted an 'r' after the 'p' in 'pick.' Auto-correct. I guess that's what happens when the name 'Sean Hannity' or 'Republican' appears in a sentence.

The "fact" that people would entertain the notion of Oprah running for President is yet another indictment on the shallow and rather naïve mindset some people have for "vetting candidates". This Oprah fervor is style over substance, it is a prolonged rash from the awful "cult of presidency" that Obama created....these voters who want a YouTube personality are absurd and way more degeneration to modern America than any tiki torch voter.
Wanting feel-good Hollywood Speeches for our nation's policies and legislation is nauseating.

"Perhaps more than any other single American, she is responsible for giving national platforms and legitimacy to all sorts of magical thinking, from pseudoscientific to purely mystical, fantasies about extraterrestrials, paranormal experience, Satanic cults, and more. The various fantasies she has promoted on all her media platforms—her daily TV show with its 12 million devoted viewers, her magazine, her website, her cable channel—aren’t as dangerous as Donald Trump’s mainstreaming of false conspiracy theories, but for three decades she has had a major role in encouraging Americans to abandon reason and science in favor of the wishful and imaginary."

That's on point.
There was an article written in response to this brief spasm of speculation that argued Oprah was essentially an American prophet, arguably its most significant religious leader. This wasn't neccesarily a compliment and it's a bad idea to elect a pope.
It was a provocative thesis, but I think it is essentially correct. She is the peemeinet pusher of vaguely new agey quack medicine in the country, yes. But that's in service of a spirituality she offers that has a turf war with what we'd call science and reason.
