Mixed feelings, I believe the prison population should be reduced to like 60%. Life is so unfair, but oh well, none. The only consequence she should suffer is forgetting about her. That is all.

I created a new topic.

You're torn about whether or not to jail someone for defining sexual assault in a way that probably isn't right?

A false accusation has to do with claiming things you know didn't happen. Her problem is that she defined sexual assault differently then most would. I wonder why she went to a media source to go public with her bad date then going to police if she really thought it was sexual assault.

Outside of the fact that lots of women who experience sexual assault avoid going to the police for various reasons, in this case it's probably simply explained by the fact that she recognizes the law doesn't consider sexual assault what she thinks should be thought of as sexual assault. If someone describes a pay-day loan as theft, I don't think we can argue they are insincere if they don't go to the police to report a theft.

Imagine you are in an airport and scream "bomb", then you tell authorities "Well, for me my fart is a bomb".

Words are powerful EAllusion, to me redefining sexual assault is simply unacceptable, you don't redefine serious words, it is not a game!

But no, she shouldn't go to jail.

What do you expect Aziz to do? Call her a liar? It would have backfired, so it is probably best for him not to dispute the details even if the girl was exaggerating .

Remember senate hero Al Franken? He didn't call anyone a liar (not specifically at least), all he said is "I don't remember it that way". So no, it is not wise to attack women.

I understand, the details are not a false accusation (we don't know), the false accusation are the words "sexual assault". We shouldn't redefine serious words, let's just stick with the dictionary.

I guess Joseph Smith was not a liar when he said he didn't practice polygamy, for him he simply redefined polygamy.

She went to the media to embarrass him.

Sure many don't go to police for various reasons, and I agree that she probably knew it would not be considered sexual assault. While he is among a number of people I've know who are poor at understanding signals, she also didn't seem to understand what most would reasonably consider sexual assault and is getting a lot of flack over it. She is just lucky he has not come out with her identity.
