Right now, Trump's approval numbers are floating around 40 % and the generic Congressional preference is around Democrat +8. That's bad, but it's noticeably better than the 36 % approval rating and Democrat +12 that was happening around the Moore vs. Jones election.

Revisit those numbers at the beginning of July and you can start placing bets on how it's going to go barring major news events. Because of gerrymandering, a Democrat quasi-landslide might not be enough to even break even in the House, but if the numbers are in more the wave area like they were in December, they could decimate Republicans because there are so many Republican seats gerrymandered to give a modest edge.

Give it just a little more time is what I'm saying, I guess.

Lord, I hope not.

I have a lot of family and friends who have small farms, and subsidize their income by working for the NPS. Last shutdown was absolutely terrifying for them.

Walker is now refusing to call special elections for vacancies to prevent Democrats from winning them. This is clearly against statutory requirements of the office, but by the time that is sorted out it will be too late.

So, yeah, looks like he was indeed spooked by the surprising loss.

Also, I don't think public knowledge has caught up with the extent to which the Republican party no longer believes in democracy. These are not isolated incidents. It's the institutional culture.

They don't believe in Democracy and they're proud of that fact. A number of their self-anointed "truth tellers" on the web think they've uncovered some hidden truth when they say we're a Republic not a Democracy. Well, duh.

Thank goodness for people like Hillary Clinton and the Democratic loving folks at the DNC. They did such an great job honoring Democracy during the 2016 nomination/primary process.
No wonder You have such fantasies about the Republicans when faced with the vile reality of the Democrats.
