Could you please point us in the direction of data that you're alluding to here? I'd like to see that.
There was a substantial build-up of border enforcement in the late Bush, early Obama years that you dismiss as "not wanting to enforce the border."
If the border was being enforced then where did all the "dreamers," come from?

The individuals under DACA were in this country before Obama ever became President. Most Americans along with most mainstream conservatives are for these individuals under DACA to be able to stay legally in this country.

Did you give a crap about this with Reagan, Bush 1, and Bush 2? Why now out of curiosity? Those MF'ers are primarily responsible for the demographic shift in the Southwest.

I don't remember illegal immigration being as big an issue during Reagan or GHWB. But I'd never been to Latin America at that point in my life so I didn't really understand. I did question why we brought Mexicans in to pick our apples when many of our own were collecting welfare. But I didn't yet know of the scale and fierceness of Latin American poverty.
I think a lot of people realized during GWB's time that mainstream Republicans had no interest in enforcing the border. That's why DJT trounced Jeb Bush so thoroughly during the 2016 primaries.

And I'm sure they'll be in favor of doing another amnesty in 20 years for the children of people that continue to come illegally.

This is a well studied issue. The findings aren't counter-intuitive as increased participation in a consumer economy tends to grow the economy. More workers, more income, more demand, more need for workers. There is some dispute about whether any demographic is hurt at all, but I think it is fair to say the bulk of study shows a small negative effect on the wages of people without a highschool diploma due to increased competition driving down the price of labor.
This American Life recently did an episode on this that was fantastic if you got an hour to listen to it:
I've linked several examples of this research to Ajax before, to which he simply asserts he doesn't believe it, then retreats into Brietbart. That's why I felt comfortable just asserting it.
No human being is illegal according to the left's principles, at least the leftist outside the whitehouse making the most noise . How does that respect the right of the citizens of a country to vote on immigration laws and enforce them?
Of course even Americans become illegal and subject to eviction the minute they can't pay their own rent or cross onto another America's property, fail to sign up for selective service, or pay their taxes. While many Americans don't agree with these laws, democracy still rules unlike in the case of illegal immigration.
