Hosts for DNA
It has occurred to me in recent weeks that we are basically just hosts for DNA. DNA that is happy to destroy us if we aren't doing what it takes to provide a sufficient habitat for it. DNA that makes us reproduce so it can survive.
I think if these viruses going around and I couldn't understand where they come from but every year they infiltrate our bodies. Then it hit me, they don't come and go, they travel around the world with the seasons. They migrate.
Have viruses been here longer than us? If you break it down to the bare bones, are we not essentially the same. Just cells with DNA trying to survive? Is this their world or ours?
There's a lot of chat going around about mutations and one in particular has come to my attention, mainly because both my kids have nearly every symptom of this mutation. And I think what a load of bull. Yet another fad. But it's niggling at me. I try to tell myself genes mutate for a reason. Then I started noticing all of the chemicals in food and now I'm thinking about the toxins and why do we need them. And if my kids have this gene mutation then apparently they will be less efficient at getting rid of toxins. So has "someone" had this in mind all along? Make people crap at detoxifying and them fill them with toxins? Population is too high right? Or at least too high with useless people.
Maybe I've become cynical but it seems to me as though we are like ants. Just a crazy mess that appears to be all over the place but we think we have an agenda. We think we as a whole are important. That we are the reason for our existence. But we are just carriers of these things called genes.
But why are they so important? Why is DNA impotant? We are taught to look at DNA as the code for our make up. But it seems to me that it is the everything. It's just making its host function as it needs to survive.

Not editing my typos. Meh. Reckon I have maybe 15 minutes before one of these kids wake from their nap. So I'm off to shut my eyes.

Pirate!! OMG! Great to see you post here! Welcome back! How is your baby doing? It’s me, Liz! PM me sometime. So good to see you here after all this time.
So you're chasing around a fly and in your world, I'm the idiot?

Yes, much longer.

We may have the same coding language, but like different computer programs, the results are quite different.

What mutation would that be? If they have the same mutation then it would be a mutation they got from a parent.
I try to tell myself genes mutate for a reason.
No intentional reasons. Mutations are a natural occurrences. We undergo many of them, with the vast majority being fixed. Everyone is usually born with about 30-40, but have no real affect on almost all of us.

DNA makes us reproduce?

I always thought it was Barry White and/or Bud Light that caused most of us to reproduce.

Weird post that has nothing to do with DNA but whatever. RELEASE THE KRAKEN!

But the results of the coding of you like, are creating something to keep that coding alive. Like the purpose is just DNA existing.
I am talking about the MTHFR gene mutation. It would be passed on from us. To do with midline deformities. So like, tongue tie, stork mark, sugar bug, lip tie, belly button hernia, reflux.

Yeah. You'll get used to it. Seems it only makes sense in my own head most of the time.
