Well, I'm not sure why you'd need to assume responsibility for him. Millions of people have spoken out against this guy. I don't think they can be blamed for him if they didn't vote for him or support him in any way (unless they did nothing at all).
I understand the criticism toward the intellectual state of America, but there are people who are trying to change things. You can't cast a blanket over the whole country and say nobody's tried, like there aren't powerful moneyed interests who are taking a measure of control away from the people. That's the real insult.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

We’ve stood by and watched them take our republic away from us. We were complicit in valuing greed over people. We have worshiped at the altar of big business and high finance. Money is America’s god, and it is an amoral god. Those who speak out against these corrupt values and beliefs may as well be mute. No one listens to them. They are branded lunatics and enemies of the nation.

I agree with your characterization of the US, but I disagree that it's useless to speak out. Today's conversation is tomorrow's change.
Again, I have to say that I personally have spoken out on the "evils" of greed and money worship (which I consider a mental illness more than anything). I agree that people enable this mental illness because they want great wealth for themselves, imagining it would make them happier, not realizing they're probably already about as happy as they're going to get.
But not everyone is complicit in the psychotic greed of the few.

I never said it was useless to speak out. Please keep speaking out, Schmo.

It just pisses me right the “F” off these guys don't “F” ing care. I suppose because the Russians aren't marching under a Soviet banner any more they're a mystery to these people.

Well, i don't know who you generalize as a Trump supporter but I know who Manafort is and I also know there is more evidence that Democrats cheated than evidence e that Trump cheated. So, speaking of "mystery" is what one is confronted with when one examines Democrats' relationship with facts.

Your words are disgusting! Everyone should be careful around you.
In all fairness to Trump, it is possible that he entered into this political mess because of a confusion between the words trader and traitor.
When Trump queried his Russian friends at Brighton Beach about the possibility of trading Trump condos for Russian rubles, they made the assumption that he was wanting to be a traitor in exchange for laundering rubles through his real estate ventures. Once the deal was finalized, Trump thought he might as well play his new role as a traitor for all it was worth. Who knows, a new reality show or even some political office might present itself because of his newly found traitorous status.
