And yet another shooting at a School.
2 dead, gunman at large after shooting at Central Michigan University
I am sure the gunman is just acting out on a drug induced rage caused by his fatherlessness, driven by mental illness and that he would have killed more people if he was using a sharp stick.

You know I think the gun nut advocates have a point. Lately it seems that guns aren't killing people, schools are killing people.
Maybe we should just keep people out of schools, that will eliminate school shootings. Easy peasy.

The two people he killed were his parents. On the fourth floor of the school, apparently from a domestic dispute.

Well we better keep an eye on the shooter because we all know how likely people without fathers are to shoot someone.

Just make sure you get the nomenclature of the weapon correct otherwise your opinion on the matter is bull crap.

Obviously, any deaths are a tragedy, and any child deaths are more of a tragedy, and any gun-related child deaths at a school are even more of a tragedy. But the data shown on this site does seem to show that things have gotten better, not worse, over the last 24 years (both by number of deaths and number of shootings).

Obviously, the number for both charts should be "0" each year, and I'm not saying nothing should be done, but the current focus and volume of the discussion seems to be convincing people that things are getting worse, when in fact the opposite may be true.

No data in these charts for the past four years. The chart in your link has 38 as the highest death toll in one year. We're already at 20 in the first two months of 2018.

Based on the data here, these would be the last three years (K-12 + universities)
2015 - 21 (10 at Umpqua Community College in Oregon)
2016 - 9
2017 - 15

While the number of mass shooting deaths may be diminishing, pointing that out is like saying the number of NASCAR racing deaths has gone down so we don't have to worry about car crashes in general.

I'm all for anything that can reasonably keep people safer from gun violence (accidental or intentional). I'm more worried about efforts to make our schools more like prisons.
