I'm sure there are plenty of things written in the Bible that disgust you. Care to list them? How would you like to go back in time and live in the Bible knowing what you know now? Step into a time machine and go back, Jersey Girl. You can be a good little Bible girl and do what you're told.

I agree. I think Jersey Girl should explain herself. Frankly, I would be shocked to learn that I'm a hypocrite and would seriously have to reevaluate fundamental principles of how I view myself as a person.

Me a hypocrite? I just don't see that. I can't even imagine it!

I’m not saying she should explain anything. I’m asking if she would be willing to do so, given that this isn’t the most friendly environment for discussing religious belief. When she speaks out about religious belief, I think she’s pretty damn thoughtful and articulate. I always learn from her posts about her religious beliefs.

If she chooses not to elaborate, that’s perfectly fine by me.

I have a high regard for Jersey Girl and value her opinions. I'm sure there are arguments that can be made about my presentation of this thread and it can be shown that I'm rude or whatever. I just don't get how I'm a hypocrite and would like an explanation. If she can show that I'm a hypocrite and others here agree, then that is going to put me on the spot.

A hypocrite is a person who advocates one thing but does the exact opposite. I don't see how or where your actions haven't aligned with your beliefs, so I'll be interested in hearing Jersey Girl's explanation how and why.
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

I agree. I'm seriously interested in what she has to say.

You don't think I'm a hypocrite, do you?

Sounds like you misunderstand Jesus. He wants to have a big banquet with you as an honored guest. Sort of like a Texas barbeque but with linen napkins. Probably he will offer sangria rather than beer.

Sword threatening is strictly the stuff of naughty angels and is not part of the Prince of Peace belief system.

If you were Hungarian, he would offer you Tokaji wine rather than Mad Dog 20/20.

Well, I understand the peaceful elements of Christ's message and the well wishes he made towards mankind in the hope of a better world. But there is a dark side of his message wherein the cult leader reveals his true nature and intent:

Jesus Christ wrote:Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

This message is strikingly clear. Jesus is not a man of peace, He is a man of war the same as Jehovah of the Old Testament who affirmed he was a man of war (Ex 15:3) and carried out endless wars and slaughter against many peoples through his Israelite cult.

The prophecies of Jesus' coming promise retribution and slaughter against those who fail to conform to the religious system of the biblical god. Threats against the world are also made in the Book of Mormon and Doctrine & Covenants. The promise of death and destruction is made clear and Jesus is the general of this war whereby the world is to be overthrown and overrun by a Christian monarchy and a form of religious government. It's a very ugly scene if you ask me.
