The kind of guy who does those things is the kind of guy who does it to many women. Combine that with the number of missionaries that go through the MTC, and there will be other accusers who come forward.

Exactly. Other women are going to come forward. Bishop admitted that he had an "addiction" and addictions don't just produce a one time event but many.

Oh this is so delicious!

What will the church's response to this be? "Oh, sorry, that's awful, we didn't know." ?!?

It's Tuesday, and we have the Church's response. Pres. Newsroom put out the most corrupt, immoral smear of the young lady that I have ever seen in my life. Here is the link:

https://www.mormonnewsroom.org/article/ ... march-2018

My first reaction is speechlessness. But the time has come to speak out. The march on March 30 will be just the beginning. The Mormon church has ruined one too many lives. It's time to make them stop. Russell Nelson should to the honorable thing and resign and spend the rest of his days ministering to rape victims.

Here is what I would like to know.

The Church in its official statement says they first heard the tape of this interview two months ago in January of 2018.

(Note they try to make the time a matter of "weeks" rather than "months.")

Apparently the content of the allegations caused the Church sufficient concern to pull all of Joseph Bishop's books from Deseret Book Stores, and now BYU Book Store.

But if it was merely the content of the taped interview that caused the Church such concern, why did the Church not pull the books in January of 2018?

Why did the Church wait until the taped interview went public to pull Joseph Bishop's books?

The matter resurfaced in 2016 when the same individual contacted a stake president in Pueblo, Colorado, and then again a few weeks ago in January 2018, when the Church was contacted by a lawyer representing her. He provided a copy of a recording that she had made of a conversation between her and 85-year-old Joseph Bishop in December 2017.

Herald Extra article

Captain Michael Robertson of the Pleasant Grove Police Department acknowledged on Tuesday the department was aware of the allegations, but said Pleasant Grove's involvement was not about the allegations.

"The woman contacted the church leaders. She made threats she could possibly hurt someone," Robertson said. "We went out to her home to visit her and make sure she was OK. We never investigated the alleged abuse.

Compare that to the Newsroom statement.

This matter was brought to the attention of the Church in 2010, when this former Church member, who served briefly as a missionary in 1984, told leaders of the Pleasant Grove Utah West Stake that she had been sexually assaulted by the president of the Provo Missionary Training Center, Joseph Bishop, 25 years earlier. They listened carefully to the claims being made and then this was immediately reported to the Pleasant Grove Police Department, and the police interviewed her at that time. The Church does not know what she said in that interview, but the Church received no further communication from the police concerning the matter.

It seems clear from the article that the church reported it because of the death threat not because of the alleged abuse. The Newsroom frames it in a way that makes them appear to have done their due diligence, but it is not accurate or honest.

What are the odds that the church tried to contact the other sister missionaries that were there?

Because the church won't do anything to its own detriment unless it has to. The LDS church doesn't believe in honesty and transparency because it's a secretive cult that hides its sins like a spider in the midst of its web. The Mormon organization is a poisonous cult -- a total and complete lie.

He admits to completely inappropriate sexual behavior, while president of the MTC, and remembers the room she talks of, then tries to correlate her with about 3 or 4 other women that are not her.

The church is complicit in this behavior by abstaining "church" judgment against him.

Brilliant! Of course the Pleasant Grove Police Department was not involved in allegations of criminal activity that allegedly occurred in Provo! Nice catch!

One more thing here I would like to add. The church release says they checked their records and could find no evidence of a "meeting" with this lady and elder Asay.

If memory serves, and once again I could be corrected on this, I thought this woman did not mention a meeting, but a telephone call with Elder Asay.

If it was indeed a telephone call she claims to have had, the church's announcement they could find no record of a "meeting" may be another attempt by the church to be disingenuous.
