Who said that you did?

Nobody in this thread so far has said so including you and I hope it stays that way. JLHPROF did confess early on that he "definitely needs Jesus" but he didn't state his reasons why after Doctor CamNC4Me asked him specifically, "Why?"

Now, to be clear on something. I definitely don't need Jesus to live a good life and die a happy person. What about you, Jersey Girl? Do you?

Do you realize how stupidly naïve your questions are?

Jesus or no Jesus, every life is a combination of good/bad, joy/grief, happiness/unhappiness, health/illness, love and loss. We're all subject to circumstance. Even the circumstances of our death.

Do you suppose a woman or man dies a happy person when s/he leaves children behind?

You're an adult. Grow up.

I think clearly the majority of believers are 'cafeteria' and 'chapel'. Therefore their seeming inadequacy in understanding the horrors that come with their passed down beliefs should be given some leeway.

Yes, I am being aggressive, quite so. I find certain death penalties against innocents as outlined in the Old Testament law of Moses to be some of the most offensive and evil things I've ever come across. I'm shouting on the housetop and proclaiming, "This stuff is evil and Moses was a murderer!" He needs to be condemned -- this stuff is nothing but hate.

Yes, I'm being aggressive. I offer zero tolerance or leeway for anyone who defends Moses as a righteous man and call out the hypocrisy of those who refuse to condemn him. He was a despot and the leader of an abominable cult. Without an admission of guilt it's easy to imagine today's believers following in the footsteps of Moses had they lived in his day and picking up stones to do his bidding. I can imagine that! That's why I can imagine posters on this thread committing murder. They honor Moses and refuse to convict him. They have joined with him in his murders.

Murder is is murder. Case closed.

I believe your position of jihad against Christians to be untenable. Blaming people for the sins of their fathers is like... blaming people for the sins of their fathers. Would it be right to demand all Americans denounce their country because of the past practice of slavery?

As I said in my previous post, most believers are 'cafeteria' and 'chapel', and don't concern themselves or associate with the scenes from the old testament. And when pressed will excuse it with - presentism or, that part was written by men.

This is exactly what I'm talking about with regards to your trickery and evasive ways as you attempt to derail my thread.

First, I don't care how naïve or stupid you or anyone thinks my questions are.

Second, I don't care about your woman and kid example. It has nothing to do with my original question directed straight to you.

Third, I'll never grow up. So there! Your insults roll of me like water on a duck. So quack, quack, quack.

Now, Jersey Girl -- I trust you are intelligent enough (or are you) to answer the original question which you so carefully avoided. Just answer the freaking questing, please.

I definitely don't need Jesus to live a good life and die a happy person. What about you, Jersey Girl? Do you?

Let's try this another way. Knowing what one knows right now if a Christian could go back in time and live with Moses and adopt into his tribe would they follow his religion and obey his laws?

That's a pretty simple question.

Obviously the answer you are looking for is, the time traveler would have to adapt or die- be stoned themselves.

I am trying to make the point of- so what.... With this simple question, If you were to have a modern, mainstream Christian believer explain that they don't believe everything in the Bible is literal, and the parts as to stoning bad guys is certainly written by men, would you still demand they denounce Jesus?

Yeah, I'm with you on besmirching the hardliners, but I think you're fishing with too big of a net.

I answered the question as any intellectually honest clear thinking rational adult would answer.

The answer I am looking for is either YES or No. I asked a simple question and it deserves a simple answer. Let the chips fall where they will.
