This man has been dead for 2000 years and he's never coming back. You don't need him to be a good person. You don't need him to be forgiven by an invisible god of the Bible. You don't need him, period. What you need is YOU and those who love you -- real, living, and breathing people.
Give up the imaginary Jesus, today. Forsake the Christian faith cult and live a life based on truth and reality.

- Oh the look on your face when you learn how wrong you are.
Thy mind, O man! if thou wilt lead a soul unto salvation, must stretch as high as the utmost heavens, and search into and contemplate the darkest abyss, and the broad expanse of eternity—thou must commune with God. - Joseph Smith

You're back.
Oh the look on your face when you realize how silly the religion of Jesus is and that drinking his blood and munching on his flesh is the most disgusting religious doctrine ever dreamed up. No wonder the Jews and the Romans crucified the sick bastard. He was a insane.

So if he is alive and Mormonism his religion, then why do we not see any amputee's being healed?
Mormons make jackasses out of themselves with their so-called miraculous gifts of the Spirit and power of the priesthood. It all started with Joe Blow Smith who translated Egyptian papyrus into the Book of Abraham. Smith made a complete mess of it and proved that his Spirit and his priesthood are just false wishes on his part.
Oh the look on the face of Mormons when you ask them about the Explanations of Facsimile No. 3 and why they are completely wrong. Liars for the Lord.
Mormons may not be so stupid considering, the immense, unrivaled physical and psychological health benefits of having a sense of community like they have. A study showed that above diet and other factors, social connections affected longevity most. Another study suggested moderate religious involvement helps health.
In a way, we do need Jesus and other symbols that potentially help us to explore and make conscious all the dark aspects of humanity and being human & to “sacrifice” the darkness within ourselves. We need to believe in something beyond our own selves. Jesus as a personification of God/spirituality is a symbol more relatable than abstract concepts or symbols. Unfortunately, Christianity has in a way “killed God” by suggesting that just by believing in human sacrifice scapegoat, & the lie that all of the spiritual/GOoD work has already been done for us. But if you take it symbolically in healthy interpretation- ideas of Christ are much needed.

Amore , I have struggled to understand your view a few times. If I just look at your observation that the teaching that all the spiritual good work has already been done ,we must just accept it , is a bad idea I agree. That is hardly what is taught in the New Testament. Perhaps I have heard the view, i cannot say it doesn't exist. I avoid it and anyplace it is taught.

Themis, your question makes me wonder why we are mortal, why we suffer from hunger, why it is cold in the winter and hot in the summer, why there is dust in the wind.

Ok, I acknowledge I may not be as clear in communicating as possible, but what exactly have I written that you struggle to understand?
Amore, I do not mean to try to show you right or wrong. I am trying to clarify, and perhaps the thinking is for myself as well as public discussion, how this Jesus can be a valuable personification of God, spirituality.
I think his human sacrifice scapegoat acceptance is a foundation guiding light and nurishment for our spiritual journey. It would not mean much if a person thought that Jesus completed the journey leaving no sacrifice for us to make.
Life is clear we all must make sacrifices and I think it is best if we have meaning and direction in mind when we encounter the requirement.
This morning I was thinking that my views have focused on the example dimension of Jesus enough that I have ignored the other portion of fulfilling justice. That traditional view makes sense to me if one thinks in terms of the needs of the whole family of humanity extending long into the future and especially if thought of as resurrecting into some eternity. The injustices we have done continue to corrupt unless corrected.
