Post-surgery biopsy results are back, and it wasn't cancer! This, after being told there was a 98% chance that it was.

It was an epidermal cyst, which is common. I'm happy and upset. Happy because I don't have cancer, and upset because my doctor didn't tell me there were other options other than surgery to remove it. I just googled this and apparently there are other ways to determine if it is a cyst without an unnecessary orchiectomy.

I'm sorry that you're upset. You did have a bad scare and I'm happy you are relieved, and yet you have to deal with a sense of loss. Anyone would have competing feelings in the same situation.

Try to lean into the happiness part!

That takes balls.

I'm super glad to read you're A-Ok. Now I can go back to hating you!

Great news!

I do like your wife thanking god that he cured you. ;)
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.

Without religion we would have found a cure for cancer by now.

Kevin Graham wrote:So I went and the urologist scheduled me for an ultrasound. They saw a mass 4.8 centimeters in diameter. She said we had to assume it is cancer. I asked if it could be something else, and she said there is like a 2-3% chance it could be something else if I had trauma to that area. I said trust me, I'd know if I had any kind of trauma to my nuts. So, now we have to take it out and see what the pathology determines. If it is the kind of cancer that spreads, then they will scan further and probably do chemo and/or radiation.

My son was born with teeny, tiny fontanels. Like, smaller than your finger-tip. So tiny that, when he was coming out of me, they had no idea he was sunny-side-up because they couldn't find the fontanels.

The doctors thought it was craniosynostosis. Dr. Google said that only about 1 out of 100 kids is born with tiny fontanels without it being craniosynostosis. I freaked myself out and worried myself sick about the skull surgeries he was going to have to have, him wearing that little helmet, the scar lines, etc.

Turns out he was the 1 in 100. His skull has developed just fine and I dare say he's a handsome little boy.

Glad to hear it wasn't cancer and wishing you all the best.
