The apartment wasn't equipped with a working smoke alarm, however, there was another alarm system in place that sent out the emergency alert.

Sub, I can’t find an NFIS that has anything to do with fire chiefs. Did you perhaps use the wrong acronym?

I think he means the NFIC.
I can't believe that sprinklers haven't saved lives...that is is a huge stretch, but to be fair to SG's point, they have probably saved far more lives by the water waking the person up vs. actually stopping a fire.
Fire Life Safety (FLS) is like ADA...it has a place, it is important, it does work, but for the money it does not serve the majority, and is a great burden to the developer and tax payer. I am not saying that it is bad, nor good, but just the way it is.

Apparently sprinklers are so effective that someone decided to catalog as many documented instances as possible.
But I'm sure you're probably right. Sprinklers haven't saved any lives. Ever.

we already know you can Google so settle down.... but reading seems to still be a struggle for you.... still no one saved by a sprinkler, your goofy website literally documents no one being "saved".
it's almost like, instead of just being an entrenched ego, you really don't understand the topic.
maybe dousing your argument with water could save it?

nope, but I mis-typed "NFIRS" , national fire incident reporting system.... insurance companies, of course, love it and fire engineers use it when a project is getting approval via a non-prescriptive application.
But yes, not one life documented as being saved by a sprinkler.

Wow. This is a really interesting catalogue of lives saved by sprinkler systems:

Re: Man burns alive in Trump owned Building
Hey you can mock me for Googling but I just provided over 3,000 documented cases since 2011 of sprinklers successfully suppressing fires in houses, offices, businesses and apartment complexes. Doing precisely what you said they don't do efficiently. You're the moron taking the position that none of those save lives. Its like you don't understand statistical probability. Apparently the only thing that will work for you as proof is if there was a situation where a man was literally on fire and then he runs underneath a sprinkler. But even if I did provide a case like that you'd say "Hey how do we know for a fact he would have died without the sprinkler? He could have rolled around and put himself out." Your logic is just completely dumb. It's like saying the guy who came up with the vaccine for measles didn't really save any lives because hey, not everybody who has measles dies. "Prove to me he saved lives. Come on go ahead prove it! Prove one person who was dying of measles and then lived!!"
It's like you don't believe preventative measures can possibly save lives.

Only a monumental dip crap would mock someone for using an information or news aggregator site to put together a post. Whether it's Google or Reddit these sites are phenomenal resources for metacontributions, or something called 'transactional knowledge'*, to a particular subject. There are certain people, I'll decline to name them, that want to give us the impression they know everything about everything and love to pass off their posts as some sort of impressive feat of being the Most Knoledgeable One, but it's bull crap. Everyone uses the research tools the Internet affords them.
* I'm only linking to this 29-page paper to demonstrate how and why I would come to use the term 'transactional knowledge', which, by doing so, demonstrates how using search engines facilitates learning and information resourcing because that's the way we operate these days:

I don't expect anyone to actually read the entire thing.

Wow, this is cool.
There's one in there from Sparks, NV that involved a fire that was near a drum of potassium hydroxide. When fire crews saw what the fire was next to, they got out of there, started evacuating the nearby area, and called the regional HAZMAT team. By the time the HAZMAT team got there, the sprinkler system had put the fire out.
