911 is for emergencies where someone's saftey is in immediate jeopardy.
No it's the ____ not. You, as in typical fashion, have no ____ ing clue what you're talking about and just make ____ up on the fly.
I have always understood 911 was only for emergencies where people's safety is in jeopardy. They would be pissed at me if I called 911 because I went outside and saw my truck was gone. In the case of people who refuse to leave one would feel they represent a safety threat to call 911. Otherwise they want you to call use the regular number for police. 911 operators have complained most of their time is being used up with non-emergency calls.

People still seem to being arguing against each other based on different ideas about what transpired in Starbucks. You in particular seem to be asserting a lot that is not well substantiated. I would agree that she was right to call police if these men did curse at her or an employee after being denied use of the bathroom and where asked to leave. As far as I can tell there are some differences in what happened. Some have suggested they did not curse at her and that other white people had been there for hours with buying anything and using the bathroom. If true would you agree that she was in the wrong?
If you're not sure about the answer to the above questions, call 9-1-1 and the trained dispatcher will help advise you. It is better to be safe and let the 9-1-1 call taker determine if you need emergent assistance. Always err on the side of caution. When in doubt, call.
A woman manager, god bless her, has been chased around her establishment in the past, works in a downtown location, and you're telling me she needs to be more of an expert than a 911 call taker.
So. Yeah. I think a female manager was well in her rights to call 911 for an emergent situation. What's wrong with you people?

LOL I think most here wonder what's wrong with you. The issue is not so much how she called police as it is why she called them. There seems to be a difference about whether these two did curse at her. Is there any other witnesses that can show whether they did or not?
Advising people to err on the side of caution when deciding if an issue is truly an emergency is not saying that you can call for any "emergent situation."
It's not a green light to call 911 any time you might want police involved.
The generic link you pulled that from describes 911 for emergencies and gives a lengthy list of valid reasons for calling 911 that all are medical emergencies that jeopardize immediate saftey. In fact, all the examples listed involves situations where a person might be dying or risking severe medical harm if immediate action isn't taken. It specifically asks a person when deciding to call 911 to ask themselves if it is a life or limb threatening situation.

I raised the issue of how she called the police. That she called the police looks bad, but using 911 to do so is even worse. If you are calling 911 to get patrons out of your store, it better be because you good faith think they are at immeadiate risk of being dangerous. This was a non-emergency call, if there was to be a call at all, if there ever was one.

If indeed, one or both of the men cursed at her (and we're not sure about anything at this point) as reported, then I do think that's a game changer and she was well within her right to call 911. I basically said so in another post, but apparently my posts are invisible so screw you guys.
What you haven't addressed are the reports that white folks were in the Starbucks hanging out and using the restrooms without ordering, and their non-ordering presence went unquestioned by management.

I have no idea what the truth is with regard to to the "white folks" at the restaurant. Who knows what their motivations are. Maybe they're being truthful, or maybe they're jumping on the hate bandwagon.
What do know is this:
1) The woman is the manager and she's charged with enforcing company policy. That's it.
2) The men were in violation of company policy, belligerent, and trespassing.
3) All of this could've been avoided by buying a cup of coffee.
So. You tell me who's in the wrong? A female manager enforcing company policy or men who weren't even patrons trespassing?
