I thought she was pretty funny for the most part, but this is getting some pretty serious blow-back. What's interesting is that they don't see the hypocrisy in this. I just about fell out of my chair when I read this Sean Spicer tweet:
Any comments from the leadership of #WHCD2018 ?? If it had not been one of your own you would be demanding answers but you sweep under the rug
If it had not been one of your own you would be demanding answers? That's the current description of the entire damned GOP. Holy head up your ass, Batman.

What's really amazing about this is people are criticizing her for vulgarity... and she's a comedian. Any Republican offended by her act should demand the President accept responsibility for his vulgarity first... you know, make him set a damned example, like a competent leader is supposed to do. Then we'll worry about the comedians.
Talk about hysterical blindness. damned snowflakes.

My attention-demanding news feed was lit with articles about her performance. It mentioned how raunchy it was, how she went after Sarah Sanders and Kelly Anne Conway, jokes about Trump and Pence.
So I watched the whole thing. She killed. I find it especially interesting that her best comments aren't getting reported on like, I don't know, how the media made Trump and profits off him while tsk-tsking him at the expense of the nation. Or that the path to really hurting Trump's ego is to question his wealth being maybe rich in Idaho but in New York terms he's just doing OK. How broke is he? He took money from the Russians and has endangered the republic you say? Hmm, too bad that bit didn't make the feeds. Even if the set up got a bit shaky, I enjoyed that bit and felt with a few better middle zingers that final punchline was a steel bat to Trump's knee caps.
Anyway, I'm with you Schmo. The reporting is bad. The supposed gasps about it being raunchy are hilarious like her joke about Republicans who are against abortion except when it comes to having their secret mistress get one. The rauch came from the material being roasted. People don't like pussy grabbing, pussy hat jokes? Don't know what to tell them except go find a nice cave to live in. Besides, that joke about getting screwed at Bear-Sterns? Man. That was solid.

Man, that really was awesome.
I liked her bits on Ivanka. She's done nothing to satisfy women, so like father like daughter. Perfect.
I also laughed when she said Mike Pence would love The Handmaid's Tale, and when she said she didn't want Conway hurt by a falling tree in the forest, just stuck. Good stuff.

One of my favorite jokes was another aimed at the media, and yes, I guess its raunchy but damn.
“I know there's a lot of people that want me to talk about Russia and Putin and collusion, but I'm not going to do that. Because there's also a lot of liberal media here and I've never really wanted to know what any of you look like when you orgasm. Except maybe for you, Jake Tapper. 'Uh, uh, and that's all the time we have for that tonight.'"
Ouch.

Yes. And then her comment about how she wasn't going to criticize Sean Hannity because the dinner was for journalists.
Right in the zone.

Yup.
Frankly, I really enjoyed it. I had opened up MDB this morning to start a thread about it but was glad to see you had beat me to it. Given the negative media coverage, I think people would be well served to watch it themselves to both see what was said and hear how it was received. The jokes were a Valentine's Day Massacre Tommy Gun spray of indiscriminate killing but they were hitting because she's saying things that needed to be said. Walking away from the mike, to toss back, "Flint is still without clean water." That was our Democracy sneaking in to the halls of power and saying, "Hey idiots, don't forget who you all are supposed to be working for while sitting in your tuxes and adult prom dresses eating high dollar tiny meals on stylish plates."
Speaking of watching it, I guess I should add a link to the entire thing -

. Good stuff.
There were a couple Trump jokes worth a chuckle but he is a pretty fat target. This one about the media was something the media really needed to hear.

Great description.
I think the line that made me laugh the most was the last one here (I looked this up because I didn't want to paraphrase on this one):
Thanks to Trump, pink yarn sales are through the roof. After Trump got elected, women started knitting those p---y hats. When I first saw them, I was like, “That's a p---y?” I guess mine just has a lot more yarn on it.
Yeah, shoulda done more research before you got me to do this.
Given the blow-back, that pretty much says it all. It's even funnier after the fact.

Mostly funny. Kind of a general nut kicking. I liked her comments on the media the most. And I have to admit some enjoyment at watching Huck's daughter squirm. Unworthy of me, I know. The seething in her and Kellyanne's face can't begin to compare with Trump's when O savaged him back when.
