Let me say this in all caps because Screw you, Jersey Girl.

IT"S SHADY AS “F” TO SEPARATE FAMILIES AT THE BORDER SO THE KIDS CAN BE DESIGNATED AS UNACCOMPANIED TO GET AROUND THE LAW.

I don't think this has been verified nor can it be verified without DNA testing.

Do we have reason to believe that a significant percentage of adults who arrive with what they claim is their children are lying about that?

Here’s an article that says 600 from October through April, with an explosion starting in May when the no tolerance policy was announced. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.texasm ... rated/amp/ The number of children served by the organization in Brownsville doubled in a short period of time.

I think it’s fair to say, based on the information we have, that we’ll soon be talking thousands of kids.

What would you like to see happen for the children, honor?

Go back to obeying the law, keeping families together, and getting them into the process of counciling and hearings rather than prioritizing imprisoning the adults. Ideally, if we really think this is worthy as a cause, it would be better for the administration to commit resources to facilitating the process. I don't know how many lawyers and judges can be paid for $5 billion but the later would probably do more good in the long run than building a wall in demonstrating that showing up at the border to the US won't turn into de facto permanent residency. Part of the issue is that as the system has become overwhelmed more and more minors have essentially appeared to have "made it" to those in Central America considering the risk-rewards of fleeing whatever is going on there to come here.

I know about the influx of people crossing the border and the ever increasing overflow regarding the shelter in Texas. That's why I mentioned plans for using US military installations prior.

As to your first. We have neither compelling reason to believe that children are with or without their parents. I would err on the side of caution, temp separate children from the adults, and push for DNA testing asap in an attempt to sort that out. DNA testing wouldn't provide for adoptees.

What might be feasible and workable is all of the above, with the military installations used to house families as a unit following DNA testing. In other words, separate incoming as I stated, reunite and then relocate to military bases. I still don't know what type of facilities they plan to use on bases. But it's a start.

1. Where would you like to see the families kept together?

2. How would you verify that they are family?

Keep in mind you are asking these questions as the administration has decided it will work out how to get families back together at some future date in favor of making sure adults go to jail.

ETA: If at all, really. If the accounts are factual, then when a border patrol officer tells a woman her family is over it suggest there may be no real interest in solving that issue anyway.

The laws require all minors be screened to see if they are victims of trafficking as the first priority already. Seems until recently it didn't require breaking up families, either.

Thanks for your reply. Would you mind answering the two questions that I posed to you?

Would you mind taking on the issue of the Trump administration prioritizing jailing adults with zero tolerance over the well being of families or respect for the intent of the law? Take my main points seriously and I'll consider yours.
