So was mine. And my wife's. I don't really care, but I do appreciate jpatterson redacting it. I haven't cared about keeping my "in real life" identity and "Equality" online handle separate since about 2007. Anyone who gave half a sh*t (which has to be a vanishingly small number) and was even the least bit adept at the Google could figure it out.

Am I surprised that JD would dox me, my wife, and Mayan Elephant to someone in texts? Not even a little bit.

I'm in the group that doesn't give a crap who you are, but that last sentence is very telling. It should be noted that JD is essentially breaking confidentiality there. That's a huge red flag in my opinion.

It frustrating for those in a different time zone and were sleeping when this thread suddenly got it's 2nd wind, when the topic of conversation is a document that we can't even read to have the slightest idea of what's going on. Which then makes me think of Rosebud and/or JP a few weeks ago.

Back on topic, yesterday, JD released his state of the union MS podcast. It almost feels like he's talking to this thread directly with a lot of his comments and there were definitely some direct quotes from things said here. Anyway, if I had a Vietnamese Dong for every time he used the word transparency, I'd be rivalling Ensign Peak. Back to all this cryptic talk of doxing, clearly JD was just being transparent.

He's hiring more people. Looking forward to reinvigorating this thread in 6-12 months time with the fall out from that.

Dr. John Dehlin is on TikTok. Is there an age limit for using TikTok, I feel like I'm too old? Probably not my bag. What I would be interested in however would be if RFM created a FansOnly page.

John says about the Open Stories Foundation Board of Directors:

"We're getting along fabulously. I think this board has been going about two years and we're getting along fabulously. There's been literally no drama or conflict with this board. Again, we meet regularly and I think were as well managed and well run from a board of directors standpoint as we've ever been."

No mention of the fact that the Board Chair, Jeremy MacDonald, mysteriously vanished in the last month. No mention of his departure from John when talking about the board. Hmmm. That's the second board chair in the last three years to just up and leave with no real explanation.

When Roger McComber left the board abruptly in 2018, which was the same time Amy Grubbs and another employee were let go, he sent the following email:

“For Open Stories Foundation to evolve and grow it would take both a change
in structure and John’s willingness to change
behavior. In my opinion, having a revolving door
management approach is less than optimal. As someone
who truly believes in the mission, I sincerely hope to see
these changes. My initial vision and intent for Open Stories Foundation is not
consistent with the direction Open Stories Foundation is now heading.”

John talks about how the current board (which consists of him and two "dear friends of his) is the best run board he's ever had! Gee, I wonder why that is.

The last two times John flushed his board, he got big raises. Can't wait to see this year's 990 when it comes out.

I empathize for Equality having confidentiality broken and others, but doxing requires posting something public. A private conversation doesn’t quite cut the term. With redactions it might not fit for what JP posted, but certainly closer. I do think it speaks volumes to JP’s character and vendetta against JD that he was willing to post it after being directly asked by someone not to even with redactions. Then it took him so long to remove it after many people challenged him on it.

As an outsider to all of this, I think that what JD disclosed in that series of private messages was unethical. I think that jpatterson's posting it here was likewise unethical and ill conceived. In the end, he did the right thing and removed it. But, we lost a poster over this incident. That's never okay around here.

If someone is flying blind, they should avoid taking such big swipes at people. Get informed, then take swipes.

In the spirit of respecting someone's concerns even though I might find them unfounded (and, frankly, quite silly), I've taken down the doc.

By my count the doc was up for 2 hours 15 minutes and then again for 25ish minutes. Some people said Rosebud’s request that she be referred to by her pseudonym was silly since it is publicly out there by her own hand many times over, but just about everyone complied with that silly request.
