The restaurant owner was clearly in the wrong. Customers should not be discriminated against because of their employers from the HokieBird Septic Tank Service to Trump Enterprises (even though both are aromatic).

Neither the federal or Virginia civil rights statutes protect discrimination based on political affiliation. Personally, if I lived in the area, I would send them a polite letter letting them know that this liberal could not, in good conscience, be a customer of their restaurant.
