Once again subgenius goes for the “whatabout” and gets his ass handed to him. It astounds me that he puts so much faith in this stupid rhetorical ploy time after time. It so rarely works, and yet it seems to be what he’s got. Even where the comparison works, “whataboutism” fails because it treats the errors of one politician as acceptable so long as a political opponent also did something stupid. What we should hope for is voters who have the ability to critique people in power effectively and vote accordingly, not those who spend their time finding equivalent boners to justify bad decisions and bad behavior.
