How can you make statements such as conservatives feel they've long lacked representation or offer some sort of filled in explanation for where you think Chap was wrong but turn around and expect thoughts on a trailer for and interview between two militant Israel supporters who agree on having beef with Harvard's policy regarding Israel's occupation of Palestine? On that issue, it'd be hard to find a public figure further to the right of Dershowitz.

Beyond simply a bad thing. It's racist to tell someone that their race matters!

Character - Behavior - Performance - Is what matters!

Knowing that social and economic advancement based on 'Character - Behavior - Performance' really didn't apply to the reality of, say, blacks during the time of legal slavery - and knowing that although progress in attitudes and opportunity has been significant since then but not perfect - how can you claim that race no longer has any effect on an individual's life trajectory?

I think that you're confusing 'race matters' to mean the capacity of the individual within a truly race-blind world - and a race-blind world does not exist - as opposed to the imperfect and sometimes harsh reality that non-whites experience from others based solely on the one thing that they absolutely cannot change ... that is, being black.
