I'll tell you what's weird. I am one relationship away from writing this post from SLC, that's what's weird.
This is why I don't need to do the DNA test. My life is one big goat rodeo without it.
Do the DNA test! Nothing to fear and a great deal to learn. I found a whole other branch of my mom's family that we didn't know about (talking close cousins). Many have become good friends and many live in the US. One lives in Tokyo and is a very funny genius.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

Easy for you to say, your life isn't stupid! I could be up there in Terrestrial right this very second throwing in with MG.
Okay, maybe that's taking it a bit too far, but still...
I don't want another branch. I don't want any more people. I'm two clicks away from yanking out my family tree by the roots and setting fire to it.
Got marshmallows?

My life and ancestry is at least as crazy as yours.
A grandfather that was caught rum running to America (and probably linked to the Mafia) and two Welsh brothers that were hung for stealing sheep a few hundred years ago. There are many other skeletons in those closets, as well. It's not me. One can't choose one's relatives.
I have also found relatives that have done some amazing things. One that was one of the early pioneers in air flight (gliders) and his work is still taught in aeronautical engineering classes and was instrumental in Orville and Wilbur Wright's designs for their first flier. Many that fought in both the First and Second world War. One of those died defending British troops evacuating Dunkirk and is buried in France.
It's a mixed bag. You take what you get, but all of it is fascinating! Do the test!
