Impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective

Post by _moksha »

"Impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective", that is how Donald Trump's staff describes his particular style of leadership in the New York Times piece, titled, "I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration".

Ineffective? geez, the past 2 years of legislative, judicial, and executive successes disagree....but hey, an op-ed that claims "the resistance" exists because our boss is mean.......wow, what a rebellion....work is hard, we must rise up!

You are totally missing the point. If the editorial is correct, Trump doesn't deserve credit for the legislative, judicial, and executive "successes" to date--the adults in the daycare center deserve the credit.

This Congress is on track to be one of the least productive since the Civil War, which is impressive in an era of single-party control and society having evolved past horse drawn carriage technology.

The editorial seems enormously counter-productive to its stated aims, which leads me to believe the author is engaging in post-admin ass-covering or is a tremendous idiot him/herself.

Exactly. When one party controls the majority influence within the legislative, judicial, and executive branches of government, how difficult is it really to score some successes for their agenda?

Republicans have advanced some of that agenda largely in spite of Trump, rather than because of it.

What remains to be seen is how much of that success will remain when the next Admimistration rolls into town and uses the same techniques as the current Administration in nullifying, rolling back or reversing what was ‘accomplished’. And so the current legislation will be replaced by the new.

Meanwhile, those elements of an Admiistration that truly make a historical mark will tell a very different tale. Whereas Trump could have been a leader or broken the mold of the culture that he inherited, instead he’ll be known for adding nothing more than adversity, pettiness, infighting, divisiveness, and even more muck to the Swamp than thought possible, all while appealing to the worst behaviors and instincts of the Nation in a way not seen for a century or more. It’ll be an historic legacy, but not for any good reasons.
