It certainly indicates the far right never really cared about governments balancing budgets and getting out of debt.

So you are mad that the Repubs are mimicking Democratic economics?

The Republicans like to pretend they are the ones who are financially responsible, but when they get into power we see the opposite. This is especially true with the current republicans in power and how they have significantly increased the deficit. It's during these times we see the usual far right nut jobs like yourself go silent and not criticize the government in power of not being financially responsible. It's one of the reasons you have no credibility and are ignored.

Because Democrats claim that cutting taxes, especially on corporations and the higher income brackets, will offset spending increases in military and similar spending by causing the entire economy to expand?

The Republicans have treated the national economy like a person who decides to go on a spending spree that they claim will be offset by the winnings they'll get off of the stack of scratcher tickets they purchased. This goes back atleast to Reagan. And whenever Democrats claim we need to balance the checkbook by raising taxes on those best able to afford it, Republicans set off a chorus of wails about how it will disincentivise so-called job creators from investing in the economy. Yet we how have over 30 years of experience with this theory that shows the main result of pushing the nation's wealth into the hands of fewer people at highest end of the wealth spectrum is that wealth being horded.

Highly subjective judgment on a highly subjective claim.
And Democrats can be accused of pretending the same.

Themis wrote:but when they get into power we see the opposite.

no "we" don't.

Just so im clear, you're aware saying , "increasing the deficit=financial irresponsibility" ?

Themis wrote: It's during these times we see the usual far right nut jobs like yourself go silent and not criticize the government in power of not being financially responsible.

again, highly subjective.

Not at all. I don't see people from the far right criticizing Trump over significantly increasing the deficit during good economic times. You haven't.

Well, if you don't see it then it must be an "objective truth"....regardless, my memory fails me at the moment - can you reference a post where i was critical of an increased deficit during any economic time(s)? I am curious if you have enough experience with my opinion on that topic to form such a firm proclamation about me.

You’re happy to use the issue when you believe that it advances your criticism.

" Less than four years after declaring California’s budget balanced for the foreseeable future, Gov. Jerry Brown on Tuesday said the state is projected to run a $1.6-billion deficit by next summer — a noticeable shift in the state’s fiscal stability that could worsen under federal spending cuts championed by President-elect Donald Trump.

“The trajectory of revenue growth is declining,” Brown said..."
