You have to admit its a possibility. And no investigation will be able to "conclude" anything in a he said-she said, 35 year-old allegation.
especially when it appears they were all under the influence at the time
I have to give you that much. That all were intoxicated at the time does not speak well for either accusers or accused.
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

So putting aside questions of who is right or wrong here, I'm starting to see a fair bit of buzz from right leaning sources that if the GOP and Kavanaugh are serious about getting him on the bench they should conduct the FBI investigation. It's being put forward as a way to call Democrats bluff, clear the air for Kavanaugh, and remove the taint of any of his decisions on women's issues if he were put on the court.

Trump has over a dozen women who accused him of sexual assault. They have independently described a pattern of behavior that matches what affair partners he paid hush money described. On top of that there is the small matter of a tape of Trump bragging about sexually forcing himself on women.
If you are picking Clinton over Trump, you aren't picking someone accused of assault over someone who hasn't been.
I, for one, would not support Clinton on the Supreme Court.

Why Gunnar? Does consuming alcohol invalidate a person's credibility? Does it invalidate the claimed trauma of an attempted rape?
Alcohol can mess with a person's memory of the details of an experience, but it doesn't generally create entire experiences out of whole cloth.
ETA: The other variable here is the amount of alcohol consumed. We don't know how drunk she was. A person doesn't start making up memories in their head the moment they take a sip of beer.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.
Oh! I think that was a spot on observation. Thanks for providing context.
