The opinion of the US being a falwed democracy does not come from me.

Oh, I was referencing how it seems this, at least lately, tends to apply to Conservatives. I'm just noting that my side has very serious shortcomings, but to be able to realistically address them and fix them not is a nonstarter, but if, say, my side played by the rules all the time then, sure, the Right would just do what it does.

So, I agree with your point, but feel like it should be pointed out my side isn't always responsive to an electorate.

While I did reference three individuals on the right, I never specially said it was a problem only on the right, but it does seem most of the problem is coming from the far right. Perhaps it is because they have most of the power atm.

Two recent polls have Devin Nunes up by 14 and Duncan Hunter up by 15. I can easily see someone like Subgenius sincerely crowing about this, but those results if they hold are such a damning condemnation of the state of the Republican party.

Hunter seems to have unabashedly embraced the very definition of going low. It's a race to watch for its lack of veneer, all the inner working are out on full display. I would say his campaign slogan could be, "Vote Hunter or the terrorists win." But that's actually his campaign. If they still pressed buttons, he would have a button saying that.

I'm behind the power curve on these guys. Why are the important to the national conversation? I'm not being snarky, I just don't know why they came up on your radar.

Hunter is considered one of the Republicans to watch because his seat should have been safe yet he was showing vulnerability in the polls. His is one of those seats that could forecast a true blue wave in the House because in a normal midterm referendum on the sitting President he should still have been protected from a legit challenge.

Hunter is currently indicted for fraudulent use of campaign funds. The evidence is overwhelming. But that's not even the real damning part of it. It's the facts in that indictment that are so bad. In one instance, they bought golf shorts using campaign funds and planned to describe it as buying golf balls for wounded veterans because that would play well. And he's still campaigning as the candidate of "the troops" despite that. He's winning by a lot.

Devin Nunes is the chair of House Intelligence Committee and is responsible for running some of the most deceptive, BS interference I've ever seen on behalf of the Trump admin. He's destroyed the credibility of House oversight of intelligence, made it overtly partisan, and is up to his eyeballs in the Russia scandal himself. If he were an international figure, he'd be a fugitive on a playing card.

He's going to win easily too.

Seems like Trump has gone dark on insane Twitter just like he did right before the 2016 election, no?

I'm actually surprised he hasn't leaked nude photos of his wife or daughter, mentioned something about firing Rosenstein, or held a KKK rally. Usually he's big on distracting people from bad stories (Kavanaugh) with other bad stories. I guess he only cares to distract from bad stories about himself (with other bad stories about himself).

because you did not have a daming condemnation of the Republican party until those two recent polls?
Exactly what do you imagine is the state of the Republican party? because those of us who belong to that party likely have a different (a.k.a. more realistic) view than you.

geez, dude, give us a break and go back to pontificating in the mirror. For about 8 years we have all heard guys like you run around talking about how the Republican party is turning on itself, falling apart, self-destructing, blah blah blah... yet during those same years Republicans have won significant elections, made huge gains at all levels of government, and exploited the weak platform positions of Democrats. Meanwhile the Democrats are currently experiencing a real coup of sorts as the inflamed (yes, inflamed like a genital wart) left of the Democratic party has sworn destruction on all things at all times - for example, they turned on themselves with the corruption that was revealed during the Clinton/Bernie primary scandals. The tea party was disruptive for sure, but Hillary was destructive....they lost 2016 the moment she was nominated.

So, while Nunes/Hunter polls are not really worth crowing about, the success of the last 2 years sure is....November will be interesting for sure....do Democrats have anything other than "Trump is mean" for a platform?
