Trump's economy is mostly just a continuation of the economy under Obama, only with better wage gains due to sustained low unemployment that are being wiped out by comparable inflation increases.

The best thing you can say about Trump here is there were liberals who were predicting that the economy would implode upon Trump taking office and that didn't happen.

The criticism of the Trump economy that I think sticks is that it is being juiced even as it is doing well such that there are very few economic tools left in the box that could be used if (when some would say) it cools down. The Fed rate increase yesterday will inevitably have some cooling effect, the trade wars are likely to have repercussions, and the Fed's forecasting predicted GDP growth in 2020 to have slowed to under 2%...all while we are racking up bigger deficits.

I notice in the debt clock there is a figure i do not understand
deficit/surplus to GDP ration It is now 4.459 In 2010 it was 8.967 Is it better now?

GDP ratio is the Deficit (or Surplus) divided by the GDP. (the green means it was a surplus divided by GDP, red is for Deficit divided by GDP).
