Re: Kavanaugh and Perjury
Just to revisit:
1. Ford had no corroborating witnesses for any part of her allegation.
2. Kavanaughhad multiple corroborating witnesses for his denial of Ford's allegation.
3. Ford proven to be a liar about fear of flying.
4. Ford knows all about the hippocampus but ignorant for where her lawyers came from or how they were being paid.
5. Clearly Ford was never intended to have a credible story, just have a tactic. Ford provided slow-witted responses while constantly asking for the simplest questions to be repeated....and focus on the hyper feminine voice inflections.
6. Ultimately Feinsteins hoped to slow or derail the confirmation and could not have cared less about Ford, as evidenced by how quickly Ford was thrown under the bus about the letter being leaked.

The Democrats gave it their best shot. We'll see next week if the GOP loses any Senators on this one. That said, when this kind of accusation is levied you get this kind of reaction from the public:

Kavanaugh's unhinged performance today was either (1) an acting job cued by his patron, Donald Trump, or (2) a glimpse of his true, Angry White Male self.
Whichever it is, I don't want him anywhere near a lifetime seat on the United Sttes Supreme Court!

Given his hysterical and belligerent performance, I sure would NOT want to have a drink with this guy. His obnoxious, evasive responses to even the most innocuous Democrat questions really showed what a partisan hack this guy is. Not the kind of jurist that should be on the Supreme Court.

Not just a partisan hack, but guilty and a liar.

He's probably more fun when he's drinking.

On other related threads the commentators were just outright calling him a rapists, an alcoholic, etc...
This kind of political energy has increased donations across the board for the mid-terms. Democrats are very active right now, but I have a feeling so are the Republicans. To be honest, I'm probably more interested in the upcoming election than any other in memory. I'm genuinely curious if there is a Trump Effect, whichever way it goes.

Re: Kavanaugh and Perjury
If Thomas's jurisprudence is because he was accused of sexual harrassment and now feels unwilling to compromise with positions Democrats might favor, then he is unfit to sit on a court.
So you're pretty confident you can piss on a man's reputation, cause this much family hurt and pain, and know that this won't influence his thinking because you can impeach him for it? Good luck.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

The Irish can harbor a grudge. Lol. If he gets confirmed he's 100% going to be looking for payback. I have no doubt about it.

I've already heard whispers of Supreme Court member impeachment as a 2020 campaign promise.

The political viability of that is dubious at best, and mostly just ridiculous. Unless there is a major rule change in what is required to impeach a Justice or there is literal video of Kavanaugh sodomizing a puppy we will never see him impeached (even that last bit might not be enough). Some Schmo wrote:I've already heard whispers of Supreme Court member impeachment as a 2020 campaign promise.

I agree it's not likely he'll be impeached, but as a campaign promise for Democrats, I don't see why it wouldn't help election chances.
People seem to care more about what you promise than what you deliver. Drumpf's made that clear.

Oh I don't think so at all. Democrats didn't hit Kavanaugh with all the guns and they let that moron take over in an unhinged rant without challenging him. Instead of answering questions he'd instead ask them questions, and the chairman let him get away with it. It was like a drunk Trump at the mic and that is what's scariest of all, knowing someone this belligerently partisan and unhinged will be on the court. I would have pressed Kavanaugh on his recent perjury first and foremost. I mean how is this not relevant when we're trying to determine who is lying?
I would have explained what boofing, devil's triangle, ralphing and the FFFFFFF really mean instead of just asking him what he thinks they mean and then drop it. I would ask him how crazy coincidental it must be that each and every one of these activities bragged about in his yearbook has an established meaning in early 1980's teen culture than all had nothing to do with what he said, and everything to do with either sex, drugs and/or alcohol.
I never heard of the 7 F fourth of July but I'm not quite that old either. I was 12 in 1982, however, I do remember the 4 F saying being, "French her, Finger her, F*k her and Forget her." For Kavanaugh to blow it off saying it was an inside joke over the way a classmate pronounced words doesn't really explain why his yearbook would say he "Survived the FFFFFFFourth of July." It more than likely refers to another victim on the 4th of July.
Boofing has never meant "flatulence," Ralphing has never referred to kids with "weak stomachs," and Devil's Triangle is a drinking game? Since when? How come no one else has ever heard of this game, but everyone commenting on Twitter by the hundreds is mocking him because they know it to be a reference to sexual activity between two males and a female?
Do you think for a second that if the tables were turned, the Republicans would have hesitated for a second to bring up these things?

There's a pretty good chance Thomas is guilty of untoward behavior towards Hill and even if he wasn't, Democrats had to consider it in the nomination hearings. He ultimately was placed on the Court only because Democrats allowed that to happen. If that made him a hack incapable of ruling on the merits so he could stick it to Democrats every chance he got, then he had no business making those decisions then or now. You portray him like a petulant child and imagine yourself to be defending him.
But if you move off this revenge fantasy scenario, Thomas has been quite consistent in his wackadoodle views throughout the years. His jurisprudence is coherant. There's no real evidence that he's on a quest for vengeance. He has been dubiously partisan - Bush vs. Gore comes to mind - but that's exceptional and well explained in terms of generic partisan motivated thinking.

This is why the FBI is necessary.
Kavanaugh classmate says he flat out lied yesterday
But we already know he lied a lot yesterday.
