He has not been shown to be guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. So he should not be criminally convicted on the evidence as presented.
But (how many times does this have to be said?) this is NOT a criminal trial.
It is a hearing to determine whether it is a prudent and safe act to invest this man with the powers of a Supreme Court judge for the next forty years.
And there is certainly a reasonable doubt about that. So, since he is not the only qualified candidate, he should be dropped.

I think everyone who reports a crime should do so with 100% confidence that he/she is not wrong or at the very least specify that you are not sure. Your point on an authority figure thinking he/she is wrong is well taken. Now can you answer my question on your views of the Duke nonrape case.
