But how it looks right now is 1) Kavanaugh will be confirmed. You've ensured it., 2) Kavanaugh is gonna have it in for you and your SJW causes, 3) Republicans are going to do way better in the midterms than they were going to, 4) #MeToo is dead. You've not only raped, but murdered, that movement.

Ironically, you've managed to accomplish other things as well, like 5) make the exmo community look immature, 6) cast doubt on McKenna Denson, 7) cast suspicion on Protect LDS Children. Maybe I'll start dropping some of the screenshots. A lot of chatter on Facebook. It's not good. So many of the highly popular exmo figures look like total lunatics with the things they've said. And interestingly, they've been getting substantial pushback on their comments. Like hollywood celebs, they just can't keep their mouth shut, though. They do damage to their brand.

Going down even harder, perhaps, are the edgy/liberal faithful voices. Particularly the women. Lots of feminist Mormon ladies came out with very full throated statements in favor of Ford and against "the patriarchy." I've even seen arguments based on the Book of Mormon and corrupt judges being what brought down the Nephite civilization. All of these people are increasingly looking like total asshats.

And what do you think the response will be? Something like this, "Yep, that's why women shouldn't have the priesthood. They are just too emotional. "

I think you make some pretty decent points; we'll see how they bear out come November. I kind of suspect that a week's worth of news cycles in this day and age could probably translate to a year's worth of coverage if it were the 70's or 80's. What I mean by that is if what used to be a sort of slow burn that would dominate a public's consciousness for a long time (think Watergate) happened in today's world we'd see it come and go in a flash only because there SO MUCH NOISE. Watergate, while interesting, really isn't that big of a story if its competing with thousands of channels, websites, apps, and social media. It's a hot button issue and then it's gone.

I grew up in northwest Spokane in the 70's and 80's. We had one newspaper, three channels (and then basic cable sometime in the 80's), and a local library. That was my connection to the outside world, besides the people that ran in our social circles. That's it. News organizations not only were constrained by the same issues, but could dedicate investigative reporters to a story for weeks. That's just not happening these days.

I think what we think is massively important right now, won't be massively important in the week before the mid-terms. This was REALLY underscored by the Hillary Clinton email 'scandal' in 2016. I think Trump was in big trouble before that came out. And then just like that, right before the election, everything flipped, people got motivated, and that was that. Trump was elected.

So, basically, prognosticating is fun and everything. But instead of calling the election I think it's more important to identify what'll be discussed right before the election these days.

It’s as if you’re trying to imply that if Democrats had just shut up and contested no aspect of this nomination that there would have been a chance that Kavanaugh would not be appointed to Supreme Court.

Lol, Dog, you gotta stop with the comedy. It’s just too much. : D

Concern trolling is the art of saying with a straight face that if women will just stop accusing men of sexual assault, men will stop sexually assaulting women.

This it the latest in the GOP story arc: Democrats are responsible for Republicans being assholes.

Gotta laugh at the party of personal responsibility.

Conjecture is conjecture. No way to alter history and test the results. I am at least articulating an argument. You have none.

Want data? I've got data. Go look at the polling numbers for Democratic senators in red states before/after Ford circus. Start with Manchin. Checkout ones that seemed untouchable as well, like McCaskill. Look at the race in North Dakota. It's even impacting the governors race in Florida.

And then you've got the purple Republicans, like Collins and Murkowski and Corker. After the infamous hearing Collins stated something to the affect "it's no longer about his qualifications or fitness," saying that the game has changed and it now 100% hinges on the allegations and that this ties her hands. She would have been a No vote, but she has to vote Yes now. This was the design behind the Flake rebellion calling for more investigation. All of these senators know the FBI isn't going to find anything, it's not a criminal investigation, etc, etc (explained on this thread several times), but they were onboard with buying more time to try and justify. Time is running out... and Ford's so-called credibility has soured. I don't even think Flake will vote No. He might though, just because he's a douche canoe and wants a tv gig or something.

I predict Kavanaugh is confirmed. And with Democratic support. Gorsuch didn't get a single D vote. Kavanaugh, he will. If my hypothesis holds true, I'd say that's strong supporting evidence.

Seems like a moment of sanity strikes in the Right Wing propaganda mill, on the very issue waterdog says should be covered nationwide in all the legitimate news outlets.

Conservatives should be cautious about letter from Christine Blasey Ford's ex-boyfriend

Meanwhile, the woman vehemently denies what this mysterious exbo said.

“I have NEVER had Christine Blasey Ford, or anybody else, prepare me, or provide any other type of assistance whatsoever in connection with any polygraph exam I have taken at any time,” Monica McLean said in her response.

Keep pounding that horse though. Anything to take attention off the elephants in the room.
