Welp. We're almost there, folks.
The US Senate voted narrowly to advance Brett Kavanaugh to the threshold of the Supreme Court, as President Donald Trump's pick survived a dramatic procedural vote that could have effectively killed his nomination after sexual assault allegations were made against him.
The vote was 51-49, after key swing Republican Sens. Susan Collins and Jeff Flake, along with Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, voted to advance the nomination. The final vote is expected Saturday.
This is probably how it'll shake out Saturday. Man, this whole thing has been really fascinating, from the posters here being a microcosm of the electorate to how the political game has been played.

Goodness, not for a moment did I think that Republicans couldn’t make this happen. What surprised me slightly was that Democrats managed to delay it to this point. What surprised me much more so was the degree by which conservatives would be so eager to emasculate themselves and so willing to engage yet again in such unrelenting juvenile self-pity. Everybody suffers from how easily triggered these folks are.

What do you mean by Murkowski is done? Is she voting no? If true and Collins also votes no, there will be at least 3 of the swing voters voting no, because Heidi Heitcamp has announced that she is voting no, even though she is sure this will ruin her re-election chances.
