I have news for DrC. My life is not limited to this board, nor, I think, is the life of any other poster.

The idea that one has to prove to DrC that one has exhibited a suitable degree of outrage ON THIS BOARD at every disgusting event over the last decade (this video was released in 2010, and I am quite familiar with it) before expressing a valid view on events in 2018 is either as crazy as bat excrement is said to be, if sincerely meant, or ... something else ... if it is just done for trolling, as I suspect many of DrC's posts are intended nowadays.

I don't see what's controversial about suggesting it's not a good idea to joke about violence against joirnalists when a journalist was recently murdered and it's been the biggest story in the news. Man, Trump supporters are easily triggered.

And in the meantime, behind the scenes, Trump is doing his darndest to appoint extremely partisan, far right judges to as many lower courts as he can, in the expectation that he can thereby immunize himself against being impeached, investigated or held to account for anything he chooses to do while President, no matter how corrupt and self-serving.

When Donald Trump took office, he inherited more than 100 federal judicial vacancies. It was a nearly unprecedented number, roughly twice the number that President Barack Obama inherited in 2009. Trump has moved quickly to fill these lifetime appointments with a slate of the most conservative and least diverse nominations since Reagan.

While Trump’s legislative efforts can be repealed and his executive orders undone, federal judges are rarely removed from the bench. By working to install judges with remarkable speed, Trump and his grateful conservative allies are creating a durable legacy that will last long beyond his administration. And as the minority party, Democrats in Congress have few tools to oppose him aside from a Senate tradition allowing lawmakers to block certain nominations affecting their home states.
