Not sure how many of you remember him, but he and I met online back in the ZMLB days about 20 years ago. Yesterday was the first time I actually met him in person when he and his wife, three daughters and four grandchildren came over for a Brazilian BBQ. He was in town visiting one of his daughters who we met last year when we helped her family buy their new home. She is also married to a Brazilian, and one of his other daughters actually lives in Brazil too. She served her mission there and moved back to the same city and the same area where my family lived for years. What a crazy coincidence.
We really had a blast, and he was talking about online debates I had totally forgotten about. He got a kick out of the fact that I first met my wife in Utah because I had gone there to attend the 2002 FAIR conference. It was fun watching our wives talk about Mormonism. His wife had her reservations about the Church while mine was trying to convince them both that the Church is true... along with every other Church. Yeah, my wife isn't your typical Mormon to say the least.
Anyway, thought I'd share. Had a great time, and was a great reminder that you never really know someone until you meet them in person. I think he was shocked to discover I wasn't a complete asshole in real life.
If any of you happen to be in the Atlanta area let me know and I'll set up a time for lunch or something.

I've met him. He's a great guy!
Why doesn't he come to see me any more? What am I chopped liver or something?

I've met folks from the boards and each one was exactly who I thought they were in real life. Of course I'm picky about who I meet up with.
Though I don't know when I'll ever get to ATL, I'd meet up with you in a NY minute. I think you'd be a little surprised if you met me and I do think we'd have a great conversation. I tend to think that I am exactly who anyone would expect me to be personality wise because I don't use a filter on the board. I think you longtime folks all know me by now.
Take from that what you will!

Jason was one of the first people from this board I remember disagreeing with and really liking at the same time.

And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Every time I see this thread title in the list, I forget it's contents and imagine Kevin meeting Matt Damon.
Despite all of Kevin's rhetoric, I get the feeling he's really a nice guy in person, and he'd likely meet you (if for no other reason than to find out if you're for real).
