The FBI report is very interesting. I hadn't read it until last week but it aligned almost exactly with my thinking. I was impressed by the coherence of the author.

But no one is saying either thing in this thread, so your reason for addressing such hyperbolic statements is unclear. Very specific details are being discussed about very specific therapies and cases. It would be helpful if you also could cite your sources for the statements you have been making about Snow and her methods, as others have been doing.

Are you saying that some of the news reports in your timeline are not accurate due to sensationalization? I just looked again and I didn't see any distinction. Which media reports in your chronology do you think contain inaccurate statements?

I found a website called newspapers.com with archived newspapers. It offers seven free days. I'm interested in going back into the 80s and 90s and seeing what the Trib and the Des News reported on the cases, on the task force and on the AG report.

Because of my research background and personal bias, I'd like some way of trying to code whether or not the papers favored the prosecution or defense, ratio of highly sensationalized phrases or quotes to more objective phrases or quotes, etc. but that's probably going a little overboard.

And because the Trib made a point of omitting my proposed child protection policy that I believe would resolve the problems with 2-deep and never offered me an explanation even when I asked repetitively over time, I want to see if there are any instances anywhere across time of either paper publishing practical solutions to the possible problem rather than sensationalizations. If what we see is a lot of sensationalizations and a focus on "crazy Barbara Snow, the implantor of false memories" that needs to be noted. That's all the lay public seems to think today.... educated and uneducated, skilled critical thinkers or no.

But my brain is always faster than my actions. I suppose that's another reason why I like message boards. I can at least write down my ideas......

Who is calling her crazy? What I am seeing is people posting very specific and accurate information about Snow, which you then characterize as extreme and sensationalized, without providing an actual alternate view. If you have different information about Snow, please provide it. So far, all you seem to do is denigrate the facts others provide.

I'm just asking rosebud to specifically link the urls and copy & paste excerpts, as is typical protocol for users on this forum, that back up her claim that:

Posting a link and then stating that you've done your due diligence doesn't work when making a claim.. For example, I could state that I've included, in this post, a link that show the media has been treating Barbara Snow's methodologies seriously and with respect. But in reality it's just link to a Chinese clearinghouse for Godzilla toys.

I don't have time to do that. I apologize. The links are already here in the thread and I believe that Mary has put them into the document. I don't want to go back through the thread and find them for you anymore than you want to sift through the thread and find them for yourself.

I like the chronological document format because it will allow all of us to look what happened in order in time and possibly revise some of our beliefs. Maybe I'll be proved right, maybe wrong.... idk. I like to keep myself open to either possibility.

And I think that with such a complex issue, we need one place to store things. This is just a message board thread. It's pretty powerless, in my opinion. If I'm right or wrong or whatever, I think all of us need better information.
