The conspiracy theory pushed in that Fox segment regarding Soros is the very same conspiracy theory that pushed the shooter over the edge. It has no basis in reality. It uses the ur-trope of anti-Semitism.
If you think that shadow Jewish financiers have infiltrated the US state department and are orchestrating hordes of dangerous immigrants to infiltrate the US, if you're not anti-Semitic, you’re flirting heavily with anti-Semitism.
Here’s a story from Wired published before the shooting that discusses conspiracy theories about Soros and Jews bankrolling the caravan. When the president tweeted that anti-Kavanaugh protesters were hired by Soros, he imprinted this kind of conspiracy theory with the presidential seal.
It’s absolutely fine to talk about causes and organizations that Soros has funded, just like the left does with the Kochs. But the alt-right pushes all kinds of conspiracy theories that portray Soros as a puppet master pulling strings everywhere. There are lots of rich folks that are left of center. I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that the guy the alt—right portrays as a bogeyman is a rich Jew.

Tonight I went to a vigil at the Jewish Contemporary Museum in San Francisco. There are many vigils around the country tomorrow. If you are feeling a bit hopeless lately, I urge you to go to a vigil. There is nothing like the spiritual comfort you experience being with people who share grief for what has happened and prayers for a better future.
"The great problem of any civilization is how to rejuvenate itself without rebarbarization." - Will Durant "We've kept more promises than we've even made" - Donald Trump "Of what meaning is the world without mind? The question cannot exist." - Edwin Land
Which, being interpreted, meaneth something like this:
'We have successfully exited from orbit round Planet Reality and are on our way to ... somewhere else. Wheeee!'
Zadok: I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis. Maksutov: That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.
Lou Dobbs brought Chris Farrell on yesterday to say the immigrant caravan is being funded by the "Soros-occupied State Department," which is a thinly veiled reference to the "Zionist Occupied Government" conspiracy theory––the same conspiracy theory that compelled yesterday's terrorist act against the Tree of Life congregation. In other words, on the same day that an antisemitic terrorist murdered almost a dozen Jewish people, Fox News doubled down on the conspiracy theory that inspired the terrorist. Oh, and President Trump has promoted that conspiracy theory as well.
This week in Trump's America:
A white Christian male tried to enter a predominantly black church but settled on executing two black people at a grocery store. He didn’t engage a white man outside because, as he explained, “whites don’t shoot whites.”
A Donald Trump supporter and apparent anti-Semite who looked up to white supremacists sent bombs in the mail to the president’s opposition.
A white Christian male and avowed anti-Semite walked into a synagogue and killed 11 people after screaming, “All Jews must die!”
Isn't this the Right's opportune moment to bombard us with memes about Chicago's murder rate in the black community?
It should go without saying, but the idea that wealthy Jews are secret puppetmasters controlling the government and they are using that power to bring in dangerous immigrants to sap the nation's purity and therefore its strength is as quintessential anti-Semitism as it gets. It was a significant inspiration of and propaganda for Nazis.
Media outlets trading in this are pouring poison into people's ears and you cannot have a low enough opinion of them. It's already crazy how far this is spread.

Soros-occupied State Department? These people are ____ up.
I already linked that.
Water Dog's response was:
LOL
Is this a false flag? When you gin up a totally bogus conspiracy theory and then try to associate it with real life political actors and actions, is that a false flag? Maybe Soros is funding Infowars as a way to draw attention away from himself. It's all starting to make sense. I just don't have any idea what you or this Twitter person is going on about. What does this have to do with antisemitism or this attack in PA? Trump is an antisemite racist because some guy from Judicial Watch is on Fox?
DocCam's response was:
I love that (((EAllusion))) links to a Twitter rant about an anti-Semite or racist or Nazi nutjob is (((mainstream GOP doctrine))), but doesn't realize he's simultaneously outing his ilk as completely unhinged lunatics. Gotta love the comments section of Twitter.
