So, subgenius, your patriotism is to out piece-of-shit others? Your problem is you assume too much about others. I voted Perot, Dole, GWB, Kerry, McCain until he picked Palin so I voted in protest with McKinney (green party), Romney (because I felt he was a better Statesman, and then Hillary Clinton (because I felt she was a better statesman). I've only started to vote line-Democrat with the exception of voting for Romney this year precisely because the GOP is compromised, demonstrably so, and the Democrats are basically the centrists now.
I don't think it's by coincidence the older I get, the more well-traveled I've become, and the more interaction I've had with the world at large that I've come to understand how our system works, why our system works, and that it's the Democrats who have a better handle on global affairs, economics, and social realities.
Those Conservatives got you. They bamboozled you. And it's ok. They got me, too. For a long time. But the great thing about our democracy is you can adjust the influence they have on and over you. Just step back and be as objective as possible.

Guliani is out there defending Trump by arguing his crimes weren't that serious because "nobody got killed." People are having a field day pointing out that this is coming from one of the most vociferous advocates in the country for throwing the book at people guilty of low-level offenses that are questionably even crimes in the first place on the (incorrect) theory that this deters more serious crime. But for me, I take it as a reminder that "law and order" from the "law and order" party is more of code for corrupt authoritarianism that means the law should shield the in-group and punish the out-group.

Kelly Ann Conway was on last night and she just wouldn't stop. She kept saying she wasn't allowed to speak when she was. She kept derailing the issue onto all these idiotic red-meat issues for Trumpers. She was on an unhinged rant about how CNN and the media in general hates the President. How unfair it is for him to say we know for a "fact" that Trump lied, etc. I wished that Chris Cuomo would have brought up the fact that FOX News and their experts are basically reporting the same thing.
Santorum was blasted for downplaying his crimes as well. Oh if he had reported them it wouldn't have been a crime. OK, but he didn't, and so it was. They're so desperately trying to downplay the crime with "everyone does it" or "Trump wouldn't have known it was illegal" nonsense. These are the same folks who demanded Bill Clinton be ousted for simply lying about having a consensual affair with another woman.
I'm not worried about Trump making it to 2020 - he won't. The real question is, can Pence? He's up to his neck in lying about the Flynn affair.

Pence is probably worse than Trump in many ways. I prefer Trump to make it to 2020, get ousted in the election, and imprisoned thereafter.
Cohen just did an interview and claimed that Trump knew it was illegal. He's finished.
They have documents and another tape on the inauguration funds.
