I've stayed out of this thread because I think it's so self evident that this is a bad idea that it was not worth discussing. That said I would like to point out that this comment by you is highly unlikely. The number one thing that the church has going for it is controlling access to and information about the temple. This is their primary means of controlling the masses and milking them for time and money. Why do you think they are increasing the rate they are building them in the spite of decreasing growth?
They are not going to make access and information about the temple more common. They will just use idiotic stunts like this as an example of why members should not look at the internet for information. Stuff like this makes it more difficult for those of us who are still looking for constructive dialogue with our TBM friends and family.
This remains to be seen. We don't know what the changing of the guard will do to modernize Mormonism and keep up with the world. The past is in the past, the present is now, and the future is on its way. Let's see what comes of it. I think Mormonism will continue to evolve and change just like everything does. You know me, though, I like to think outside the box. I like to explore the possibilities.
