Speaking of reviews, Gandalf T, who prior to this review never found it worth his time to grace Rotten Tomatoes with his opinion, published this thoughtful bit of inspiration:

“First off, I'm not Mormon. You don't have to be Mormon to enjoy this movie. I don't believe in elves, but I enjoyed Lord of the Rings. In Witnesses, the cinematography is amazing, the acting is great, and the story is very compelling.”

DanP rallies the troops to get them to write rave reviews of the movie to counter the negative ones

Since others have rallied their troops to give the film unfairly low ratings, I don’t blame him.

Actually, he's asking his fans to give an honest rating no matter how many stars. I'm very impressed with his honesty in this matter in telling them to vote their conscience.

Does it show how Emma reacted to the Alger affair. Does it show how those who lost in the Kirkland Bank affair reacted. I like movies that show redemption of characters like Shawshank's Redemption. and Changing Lanes

Any comment about the revelation that Martin Harris was not to covet his neighbors wife. D&C 19:25. Lucy reported her husband would watch the neighbour's house until her husband left and get go over and spend the night there. She also told to sell property to pay the debt to the printer. Read the pages in Dan Voge's bio of Smith pp.116-117. I remember the line from Silence of the Lambs "You covet what you see". Colby Townsend told me some information on the sale of the property. "That Don Bradley argues that she was scared about losing the whole property, which would have been a shame because it wasn't just Martin's property inherited from his family—they were first cousins. It was also an inheritance from her family because they shared family. So she waited until 1828 or 1829 to get Martin to divide the property in half, her side and his side. He used his side to pay for the printing of the Book of Mormon."

Why would she make this up?
"With regard to Mr. Harris being intimate with Mrs. Haggard, as has been reported, it is but justice to myself to state what facts have come within my own observation, to show whether I had any grounds for jealousy or not. Mr. Harris was very intimate with this family, for some time previous to their going to Ohio. They lived a while in a house which he had built for their accommodation, and here he spent most of his leisure hours; and made her presents of articles from the store and house. He carried these presents in a private manner, and frequently when he went there, he would pretend to be going to some of the neighbors, on an errand, or to be going into the fields. After getting out of sight of the house, he would steer a straight course for Haggard’s house, especially if Haggard was from home. At times when Haggard was from home, he would go there in the manner above described, and stay till twelve or one o’clock at night, and sometimes until daylight." Mormonism Unveiled: Testimonies of Abigail Harris and Lucy Harris (Martin Harris’ wife)

Currently holding steady at 83%, the anti-anti-Mormons have rallied around the Executive Producer's cries for support and have provided powerful testimonies of the movie's truthfulness on Rotten Tomatoes. Michael R, for example, with nary a review under his belt drops this powerful nugget into the Internet's toilet bowl:
A beautiful and moving portrayal of the most impressive evidence for the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. Critics have tried to assail Joseph Smith's account of the divine origin and translation of this inspiring scripture by various means, but have never plausibly accounted for the unwavering testimony of Martin Harris, Oliver Cowdery, and David Whitmer who, although at times at odds with the leadership of Joseph Smith, never denied having seen the golden plates presented to their view by an angelic messenger. The acting and casting in the movie is superb, and the settings beautifully filmed. High praise and recommendation for this important and inspiring film.

Critics have never plausibly accounted for the unwavering testimony of those fine folks. Welp. There it is.

It should be noted my neighbor across the street is a conspiracy theorist, who also believes in the Flat Earth theory. He stopped talking to me about two years ago when I lightly mocked him over it. He's never denied it. He's never doubted it. He knows it's true.

Dan made the accusation that almost all 1/2 star reviews have no history of reviewing on Rotten Tomatoes. I wonder if he counted all the 4-5 star reviews and their history? It is fun everyone should go count those.
