Oh, and the welder? He will only make that if he can get union wages or Davis Bacon Act coverage under federal contracts. That means Democrats and soy boys and girls anyhoo.
Welders are manly men and liberal art majors are soy boys? Is that it?
I looked it up on a lark. Per the googles, The average starting salary for a welder is a little over 33k. It’s a little over 40k for a liberal arts major.
My roommate in college was a liberal arts major. He makes over 200k per year now. Not the average outcome, but stereotypes are fun.

I've seen the meme and its variants a lot lately. It's a sort of class warfare. For some reason people who do well in college are now supposed to apologize for it. We're supposed to believe that they've emerged from some factory of leftism and are now incapable of doing anything. But we're to believe that blue collar workers are safe, in the face of the massive structural unemployment caused by decades of declining American factories. Uh, no. My family is mostly bluecollar even now and they are barely scraping by, their wages not keeping up with inflation and they are deeply vulnerable to economic blips. And they harbor class resentments over their fate and blame "Them".
I began my government career as a blue collar, "Wage Grade" worker. I went to school nights and studied business administration and other subjects, all on my own dime. I cherish my memories as an ammo humper but could never reach anything anywhere near my potential there. I graduated from that classification to white collar status. While this proved disturbing to the rednecks in my family, it said more about their own insecurities than about my obligation to make them comfortable with their choices.

How many of them start threads on the Internet about soy boys vs. MAGA men?

The identity politics going on at CPAC seems like a noteworthy thing to discuss if you’d prefer and discussing it doesn’t mean you agree with their gender stereotyping.

I was wondering if I could get a listing of all of the folks who run CPAC - and their staff - who are welders, or perhaps a list of the trade schools that they attended.

They're busy plugging memes. Silly binary memes, in fact. That is the point, Doc. When we reach the point of these extreme and superficial labels, we aren't trying to communicate or learn.
