Lock who up?

The House Oversight and Reform Committee has obtained information that senior White House adviser and President Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner used WhatsApp and his personal email to conduct official government business.

Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) wrote in a letter to White House counsel Pat Cipollone on Thursday that the panel gained confirmation from Kushner's attorney Abbe Lowell in December of last year that Kushner "continues to use" the encrypted message service for government business.

The panel is inquiring whether Kushner, his wife Ivanka Trump, and other members of the Trump administration may have violated the Presidential Records Act.

Cummings also blasted the White House for failing to provide his committee with documents that he says he has repeatedly requested.
"The White House's failure to provide documents and information is obstructing the Committee's investigation into allegations of violations of federal records laws by White House officials," Cummings wrote.

"In fact, as you know, the White House has not produced a single piece of paper to the Committee in the 116th Congress--in this or any other investigation," he continued.

The chairman also claims Lowell confirmed that Ivanka Trump received official work emails on her personal email account that she has failed to forward back to her official email account, something he notes is required by law.

This is old news, but I just found it recently, and it has stuck in my mind as one of the more petty yet succinct illustrations of our President's ethics.

This is a coin that the White House military unit (the WHCA) designed and created (at taxpayer expense) at the direction of the Commander in Chief.

Betsy DeVos defends Special Olympics budget cuts: 'We had to make some difficult decisions'

This vile person is taking away funding for the Special Olympics for 272,000 disabled children so that wealthy people with yachts can buy bigger yachts with smaller yachts inside them. This is the most corrupt administration our nation will ever see, and it is hurting our most vulnerable with a smile on its face.

I believe that presidents customarily have challenge coins minted. I don’t think this is a new practice by Trump.

I saw this post earlier and did some checking. Presidential challenge coins go back to Bill Clinton. There's more than one version of Trump's coins. His coins tend to be showier and gold-er (?) than the others.

They typically have the Presidential seal or some version of it on the front. None of them have campaign slogans on them except for Trump's. On back there's plenty that have the residences of both the President and VPOTUS. Since Mar a lago is the Winter Whitehouse, I suppose it's kosher.

It does seem like a self serving advert.

My qualm isn't the creation of the challenge coin in itself. Although, his initial/main coin does have some interesting departures from previous Presidents (i.e. the lack of the Presidential Seal, and the omission of "e pluribus unum").

My qualm is that he was going to use the coins as an advertising tool for his properties. I think there would likely be more if the NYT hadn't broke the story on this one and the others that were (purportedly) in the works.

Keep growing that Trump Swamp!

“Stephen Moore, whom President Donald Trump said he’ll nominate for a seat on the Federal Reserve, owes more than $75,000 in taxes and other penalties, according to the U.S. government. A federal tax lien filed in the circuit court for Montgomery County, Maryland, where Moore owns a house, says that the government won a judgment against Moore for $75,328.80. The January 2018 filing said it was for unpaid taxes from the 2014 tax year and could accrue additional penalties and other costs.”

Hey, is this adoption agency being run out of the basement of a pizza parlor? That’d seem fitting considering right-wing fascination with such things.
