Totally. But, if you cannot see the intelligence in the design. . . . . keep looking. It's there, and it's awesome.

Do you mind expanding on what you mean by this?

As dolphins have a multi-chamber stomach, reniculate kidneys, a retia mirabilia, and a separated trachea and esophagus (just to name a few things), I believe I am misunderstanding your statement.

I think he means that high pitched sound both humans and dolphins make when they want someone to throw them a fish.

It would be much more awesome and logical if we processsed food with 100% energy efficiency and had no need to excrete waste. Or simply extracted our needs from our immediate surroundings. Or were structured as one large superorganism possessing all of our functions without need for organ specialization or individual discrete cells. Or never had hiccups.

Seriously, why is our current design so ‘intelligent’?

Clearly, as evidenced by many of your posts, he means the blow hole.

Just in time; evidence of not-so-intelligent design, both in subject and source. : )

Here is a quick link. There are others that compare more physical features.

Primates, as I understand it, don't have blubber like we do. There are other things. Here is a quick link, without me finding the original articles. The woman who first suggest the aquatic ape theory thought that we do descend from monkeys, but that we spent a lot of time in water somewhere along the line. We developed features that are water friendly, like blubber, holding our breath, and some other stuff. But, I'm not suggesting that we descended from dolphins, just that we might have once been close friends, because we spent a lot of time in the water together.

Of great interest to science is the fact that the two brain hemispheres of dolphins can operate largely independently of one another. One side can sleep while the other side remains conscious and alert. Structurally, the brain hemispheres of dolphins are more widely separated than those of humans.

I know exactly which "documentary" you are referring to here. Although this looked authentic, that sequence turned out to be an admitted hoax. The video had me going for a while as well.

Then I considered the depth at which they claimed to have seen this humanoid, and the fact that no human could survive under the conditions depicted, (not even close).

I looked more closely into the provenance of the video, which If I recall correctly, also had sequences of one of these "creatures" sitting on a dock and diving into the water when it felt it was being observed. If you had a bit more skepticism and curiosity, you could have found the information admitting this video was an elaborate hoax.

If it would have been real, it would still be in re-runs.

If you say so. I know there are people who can almost live off the just energy of the sun, as you suggested, eating almost nothing. That might be close to right, but sounds super boring.

No offense, but what you suggest seems so short sighted to me. Like, have you encounterrf those stories of humans that were immortal and super human, not really challenged, couldn't lose? How they lose interest with life and try to kill themselves? (fictional projection)

What we have here, with us now, is what worked. To this day, I wonder how the Egyptian did was they did, build what they built, and were so powerful, yet, still so gone?? Is it that we die simply because we need a fresh start? There are immortal being on earth, so it can be done. But those immortal beings are OK with just doing nothing for a long, long, time.

Certain features come a certain cost.

You know, DrW, for the most part, I really respect your opinion and posts. You can address my post with some relative experience that I can understand.

Yes, I did see the "hoax" evidence follow up.

But, my opinion is so easily switched from "wow" to "awe bummer."

There are other very compelling videos that even include the people in white coats, not to be disappointed by, "this was hoax" statement from the officials. One video shows what looked like a mermaid stumbling into a underwater shot of friends diving. There was a thing going for a while when the Golf of Mexico oil platform was leaking. A camera caught what seemed like a white bone spear shot across the field on light and embed in something.

I'm not saying I've seen a merfolk, and I differently wonder why we haven't caught one, but then, how do I know we haven't? The legends go back long time.
