You're playing fast and loose with the term "fact" here.

Sometimes I think Republicans are Republicans because they think everyone else is selfish, petty, dishonest, hypocritical and out to bilk the gov't (like they are). They want to get away with it, but don't want anyone else to enjoy that privilege.

Democrats are Democrats because they see people as essentially decent, even in the face of contrary evidence (which helps them lose elections).

Both teams are playing by different rules, and the cheaters win.

What proof is there for this?

How does the fact that the DNC uses superdelegates to control elections on behalf of donors apply to "they see people as essentially decent" statement? It seems the opposite.

It is a bit rich Americans call their country a democracy. In Salt Lake City which has a non-GOP mayor liberal voting areas are added to larger conservative rural areas.

We like to claim democracy, yet always have the correct people rule.

Exiled - You really think Trump wants to broker peace with everyone? Or even campaigned on that? Hmmm.

I think you'd find the book Moneyland enlightening. It might help you see something you're missing in regards to Trump, the kleptocracy rampant in Putin's Russia, and the Trump organizations relationship to things that have nothing to do with US politics. You might be surprised to realize how much your donor class concerns are eclipsed by what's going on in terms of corruption and wealth at a global scale that makes your Vegas casino owners look like peewee league players.

He certainly was talking about rapproachmemt with Russia and that sent the neocons in a tizzy. He questioned Syria. He tried to make nice with N. Korea. And don't assume I think Trump is a saint. He used to be a casino owner and is funded by one, Adelson. He was touting his mob ties back in the 90's. I think he is a clown but a loose cannon that the neocons needed to control. I'm sure Putin is a murderer and not a good guy. But does that mean he made Clinton lose? It seems like an excuse from a poor loser who couldn't connect with enough of the right midwest voters.

Exiled - seriously, read Moneyland. Think about the relationship of Manafort and the former president of Ukraine. Remember that in 2014 Don Jr. commented publicly on the relationship between the Trump organizations and Russia that included a lot of their business. You're concerned about US military contractors raking it in from the military-industrial-political complex? You ain't seen nothing, friend.

ETA it looks like some of it is available through Google books if you want to get a taste.

I was making a general observation about the base. Obviously, there will be exceptions in both parties.
