MONTGOMERY, AL—Conveying her concerns that the additional obstacles presented by parenthood would be too much to bear, 12-year-old abuse survivor Abigail Dunn was reportedly worried Wednesday that she wouldn’t be able to handle being a mom on top of everything else she had going on. “I have several book reports and a big algebra test coming up in the next few weeks, and I had even been thinking about trying out for my school’s chorus, but giving birth and caring for an infant is going to really cut into my studying time,” said the seventh-grader, who acknowledged that the intense feelings of shame and fear associated with trauma had already placed her significantly behind her peers and added that there would likely be even greater challenges to raising the offspring of the man who attacked her. “This year has been hard in a lot of ways. We had to move to a new neighborhood, and my family life has been very, very bad, especially recently. My relationship with my stepdad is pretty much a nightmare. I wish I were responsible enough to look after a baby, but I’m just so scared that I won’t be. I’m really sorry.” At press time, Dunn had expressed hope that her unborn child would be friends with the babies of all her fellow pregnant classmates.

wrong, its a belief that the State shouldn't own/subsidize a womens womb. The irony of you writing "think about it" is not lost.

Today, I signed into law the Alabama Human Life Protection Act. To the bill’s many supporters, this legislation stands as a powerful testament to Alabamians’ deeply held belief that every life is precious & that every life is a sacred gift from God. https://governor.alabama.gov/statements/governor-ivey-issues-statement-after-signing-the-alabama-human-life-protection-act/ …
Liar.
Alabama is a death penalty state.
Here's an article on the sheer hypocrisy of Kay Ivey:

That's not an unrelated question. Are these states willing and able to provide for the children they're expecting as a result of these bans and the women who will carry them to term?
Wonder where they rank with regard to reported child abuse and neglect?
Its unreasonable to dismiss speed limits because people insist on speeding. It would be like permitting child abuse because people keep having children.
What on earth are you blathering about?

He doesn’t know. He is unable to express a coherent explanation on why he believes that a raped woman should be forced to bring to term an egg within her that was fertilized by the rapist’s sperm.
Being "pro-life" doesn't have a foundation other than thoughtless adherence to a concept. It hasn't been thought through, because when it is, most people come down on, "This is something a woman should decide."
We know it hasn't been thought through, because there's no answer for several questions, like:
- Why should women be made to carry fetuses to term when they are the result of rape or incest?
- Should we encourage women to have babies if they don't feel emotionally ready to be a parent?
- What if they aren't financially secure?
- How successful will this child's life be if they started out unwanted?
- If we, as a society, feel the need to coerce women to have children they don't want, are we willing to pony up the resources to help her with that task?
- How about paid parental leave?
- What if the woman has no health insurance? Are we also paying for maternity services?
All "pro-life" arguments start from a dubious, thoughtless premise, so that's why you see such weak arguments for it. It's about feelings, not considered thought.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

I wasn't blathering, I was noting your unreasonable position via a simile of sorts. "Blathering" would be a post where one argues that abortion should be legal and subsidized in a State that may rank high in child abuse or neglect...or that a State which is not willing to provide for children must provide for the extermination of children..

Correct me if I misread the recent legislations...but doesn't Georgia still allow abortion prior to 6 weeks...prior to a heartbeat?...ergo, a raped woman is not being forced to do anything (post rape that is). Or are you proposing that a woman, being such a poor fragile creature, is unable to discern what to do with her rape-baby until the 7th week? Or are you more in line with Hillary Clinton, whereas the rape-baby should be almost out of the birth canal...big toe still in there, and WHACK - hammer to the head is a perfectly reasonable expression of a woman maintaining control over her body?
yes, coherence is not really selecting you as a standard bearer - but thanks for slumming with us.
