Not sure what an ‘ecomony’ is, but I’m thinking that the market isn’t reacting to any Obama policies or tariffs this past couple of months.

No point is so obvious that Sub can fail to miss it. Obviously, it’s fair to take into account that Obama inherited an economy on the verge of meltdown and Trump inherited one chugging along in a recovery, although a particularly strong one. But, even if you make the worst possible comparison from Obama’s standpoint — crediting him with the significant drop right after he took office — the market under Obama performed much better than the market under Trump to date.

Not that I think stock price is a great measure of economic health, but if we’re going to talk about stock market performance, let’s at least compare apples to apples.

In fairness, the reason market indices were so up during the course of the Obama presidency is that he became president in the middle of a devastating market freefall. When that happens, of course it's going to rebound sometime in the next 8 years and a rebound is going to represent a lot of growth.

This also has something to say about the asinine nature of crediting Donald Trump for an economy he lucked into, but there you go.

Im still unclear on how you guys determine who's economy is who's and when it's theirs...is it just a measure of political convenience? or is it just plain ol' KG's posts level of economic ignorance?
