Not all of the 10 poorest states are red states. And I didn't really see Bill Maher in that video claiming that all of the 10 poorest states are red states.

Trump's Republican party is not really the party of the middle class. And Trump's tariffs are essentially a tax increase on American consumers.

New Mexico is listed as #2 on that list, and NM is not a red state. Obama won New Mexico in 2008 and in 2012, and Hillary won NM in 2016. And both of New Mexico's Senators are Democrats.
