Why don't McConnell and Lindsay Graham concentrate on getting their supporters fit. I wonder the availability of healthcare there. But then the folks in the wealthier blue states can afford gym fees.

Fried food and it being hot as hell outside are a recipe for not being in great shape.

It’s a little more complicated than that, Although all of the worst 10 in terms of diabetes are all red states, so are most of the 10 best states. And I don’t see those wealthy blue state in the best 10.

ETA: This was in response to the OP.

The Deep South is the fat belt of the country and the Mountain West is the most fit. This is a consequence of geography, industry, and food culture rather than politics.

I think the Democrats should colonize the red states (Bill Maher's suggestion )and provide good education and jobs. Jobs with good pay so they do not need food stamps. Better paying jobs bring more revenue. Trickle up with employees buying things with more discretionary money.

That would explain the good ranking for Alaska despite the whale blubber as a snack treat. Breaking news: Whale blubber has been found to be lacking quickly digested carbohydrates. Well, that's a relief for the Palins.

That is a compelling reason for Republicans to climb Reverend Martin Luther King's mountain, even if they refuse to look over the top.
