Epstein's underage sex ring knew all the best people

Post by _MeDotOrg »

Jeffrey Epstein is a billionaire hedge fund manager, logging over 600 hours a year in his private customized 727 jet, looking for (among other things) business opportunities. He's reasonably attractive and by all accounts brilliant. He also enjoys having sex with underage girls, and for decades his money, power and influence have shielded him from the legal consequences of his action.

Ultimately the FBI and the Justice Department began assembling a case that detailed how Epstein basically ran underaged girls in and out of his mansion for sex as many as three times a day. Federal Sentencing Guidelines suggested up to life in prison.

In 2007, Epstein's attorney Jay Lefkowitz met Alexander Acosta, Federal District Attorney of Miami. Protocol dictates that such meetings are usually held at the Prosecutor's offices. But instead of meeting at the prosecutor's office in Miami, Acosta drove about 70 Miles to a Marriott in West Palm Beach to make an extraordinarily lenient deal. From the Miami Herald's investigation:

Not only would Epstein serve just 13 months in the county jail, but the deal — called a non-prosecution agreement — essentially shut down an ongoing FBI probe into whether there were more victims and other powerful people who took part in Epstein’s sex crimes, according to a Miami Herald examination of thousands of emails, court documents and FBI records.

The pact required Epstein to plead guilty to two prostitution charges in state court. Epstein and four of his accomplices named in the agreement received immunity from all federal criminal charges. But even more unusual, the deal included wording that granted immunity to “any potential co-conspirators’’ who were also involved in Epstein’s crimes. These accomplices or participants were not identified in the agreement, leaving it open to interpretation whether it possibly referred to other influential people who were having sex with underage girls at Epstein’s various homes or on his plane.

As part of the arrangement, Acosta agreed, despite a federal law to the contrary, that the deal would be kept from the victims. As a result, the non-prosecution agreement was sealed until after it was approved by the judge, thereby averting any chance that the girls — or anyone else — might show up in court and try to derail it.

No trial, no public testimony, and no notification to the victims, who were screwed twice: Once by Epstein, and once by the Judicial System. Very nice for the billionaire, whose lawyers included Ken Starr and Alan Dershowitz, whose clients have included Klaus Von Bulow, Mike Tyson and O.J. Simpson. Women have come forward saying that Epstein and his partner, British socialite and environmentalist Ghislaine Maxwell, directed them to have sex with Dershowitz, 80, and other wealthy, powerful men. Dershowitz and Maxwell have denied the claims. When Ghislaine Maxwell called accuser Roberts Giuffre a liar. Giuffre sued for libel, and won millions in a settlement.

From a possible life sentence, Epstein escaped with 13 months in jail. Sound harsh? He had work-release privileges for six days a week, 12 hours each day, during which a private driver picked him up and took him to a nearby office. There is testimony that many women were brought to his offices during this time.

Alexander Acosta, the U.S. attorney that brokered the deal, is now Donald Trump's Secretary of Labor. As a result of publicity around Acosta's appointment as Secretary, the Justice Department opened an investigation of the plea deal in February of this year. Later that month a Federal Judge ruled that the Justice Department broke the law when they signed the deal, violating the Crime Victims' Bill of Rights. The Judge wrote:

When the Government gives information to victims, it cannot be misleading. While the Government spent untold hours negotiating the terms and implications of the NPA (Non Prosecution Agreement) with Epstein’s attorneys, scant information was shared with victims. Instead, the victims were told to be ‘patient’ while the investigation proceeded.

Giuffre is now represented by legal lion David Boies, attorney for Clinton during the Lewinsky impeachment and lately for Harvey Weinstein, Hollywood scumbag extraordinaire. Dershowitz and Bois are not pals. Dershowitz has filed bar complaints in 3 states to have Bois disqualified. (All cases have been dismissed).

So 2 of the great legal eagles of the American Judicial System, Dershowitz and Boies, confronting one another, both trying to polish whatever is left of their tarnished reputations. This case shows the extent of corruption of money and power in the American Judicial System.

On Saturday, when his jet landed in the United States from Paris, Jeffrey Epstein was arrested and charged with sex trafficking. The evidence in the 2007 agreement in still under seal. Who is under seal? Who knows? Bill Clinton flew on Epstein's jet many times.

In 2002, Donald Trump said of Epstein:

I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.

So the President's Secretary of Labor made the illegal deal with the President's most respected legal defender on Fox. I'm not sure what will come out at this point, but I would love to see some of the evidence that is under seal. Trump might go to William Bar and ask if there's a way to 'let this whole Epstein thing go', but I think we are a little too late in the game for that to work.

This case will be like an HBO companion mini-series to the impeachment investigations. But if anyone says that justice is blind in this country, I suggest you look at the case of Jeffrey Epstein. It's going to be interesting to see how much of this case sees the light of day.

FOX News is already trying to draw a connection with Bill Clinton.

Court documents obtained by Fox News in 2016 showed that Clinton took at least 26 trips flying aboard Epstein's private jet, known as the "Lolita Express," and apparently ditched his Secret Service detail on some of the excursions. Records showed that Trump apparently flew on the jet at least once.

Trump biographer Tim O'Brien this weekend reposted an excerpt from a 2002 profile of Epstein in New York Magazine, in which Trump told a reporter, "I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side."

I suspect his approval rating will jump a few points after this kind of depravity energizes his base.

Probably something along the lines of "I grant thee absolution, Jeffrey Epstein."

Evangelicals can't grant that either. Sheesh, have you never been to a Baptist church?

I'll come up with something Evangelical approved tomorrow.

I hope the investigation of this Epstein predator doesn't get caught up in politics any more. Mr. Acosta needs to resign or be replaced and if the investigation shows that Clinton and/or Trump are involved, they ought to go to jail.

....

are you disputing the allegation that Clinton flew 26 times and Trump only 1 time?

Only a dupe like you would consider the 1 to outweigh the 26 on this matter.
