Re: Trump to Congresswomen: Go back to your own country!
I don’t suppose that any of the Base noticed that this mess of a tweet came from a whiny snowflake who campaigned for the Presidency on the basis of this country being in such a sorry state of crisis that it needed to be “made great again”.
Let him explain how what the congresswomen he is referring to are doing anything different than helping to Make America Great Again.

Democrats were moving in an interesting direction the last week or so, as Pelosi seemed to make an important point about what it takes to legislate rather than just grab headlines and retweets. If a House member can't get votes behind them in the House, they aren't part of the solution no matter how many followers they have or headlines they grab.
In reality, it would pose more of a threat to Trump to have the House Democrats show they can hold a more moderate center rather than be yanked hard to the left by the most extreme fringes of the party.
I mean, who hasn't heard the unofficial Republican slogan of 2020, "We're one election away from losing the country"? It's hard to claim that when the news is focused on effective Democrat legislation and leadership.
I hate to say it, but the silly reality TV president may in fact know how to manipulate people apparently.
I don't think Trump is being tactical. He wasn't always a conservative. He's just saying what he thinks. Just last week Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called Pelosi racist. Trump never mentioned race and his assessment is accurate. All things are racial to the radical left.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

I don't think Trump was being strategic. I don't know if he's really ever strategic in his thinking given he himself admits to primarily going with his "gut". But tactical? I think he saw something he didn't like in how the Democrat House leadership was establishing some surefooted positions in the center that could be construed as actually legislating and "swept the leg" so to speak.
Most of the nation couldn't care less what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez calls Pelosi. Seriously. Making the tweet front page news was a successful move to shove the Democrats into a us-v-them position again, puts the focus on Democrats who aren't running for President, and while it may energize the liberal base it is absolutely not guaranteed to actually harm Trump. The question that matters most in US Presidential elections is how much the silent majority is influenced to start considering sitting the 2020 election out. This is a move in that direction that will affect voters who were marginally likely to vote for either side. It's early, it's unlikely to matter a month from now. But it was a shove in a direction I think ultimately benefits Trump more than Democrats.
Trump has never been mortally wounded by going too far with his racist dog-whistling or even outright statements. That's part of the reality that is our lives.

Excellent point. If Trump were to tell Thor Heyerdahl to sail his Kon-Tiki back to Norway, it would be a compliment since we all know that Trump loves the little Norwegian children.

Maybe you're right. You present a good case.

That's what I love about him. He's not scared of being called racist. The cudgel of racism allegations made every politician before him cower and surrender, even people like Pelosi or Clinton. I know most on the left think Trump is racist and I that I am. I've had to step back from just backlashing, "You think I'm racist, why I don't show you some real racism." I don't hate nonwhites and neither does Trump. Now if by racist you mean not bowing down and submitting whenever the race card is played, then I'd agree that we're both racist and supremely politically incorrect. And has that caused Trump to be shouted off the stage and into political death the way it has compromising conservative candiates like Mitt Romney? That's the best part about it, he's honestly fighting for what he believes in and all he does is keep winning against all odds.

Just so we are clear:
a few Democratic Representatives have routinely (see also incessantly) complained that -
1. America is Racist
2. America is white trash people
3. American Capitalism is evil
4. America runs concentration camps for a decade or more
5. America is an evil empire.
But when someone questions why they would want to live in such a "despicable" (nay, dare we say "deplorable") country ---- !$@$!#%&!!@&#$!!!

What about that soccer player, Megan Rapinoe? Conservatives really seem to have it in for her. Would it be best to send her back where she came from?

Well, you can probably add Lindsay Graham to the complainers now...

It's worth actually clicking on the link, and watching the interview, in particular the first minute. Then you can ffwd to 2:30 for the smackdown.

If you are going to criticize America's congressional representatives, perhaps you should go back to the country you came from.

1. There is nothing admirable about honestly fighting for and believing in white supremacism and xenophobia.
2. There is nothing honest about Trump and what he is doing or trying to do to this country. His greatest claim to fame is that he is both the most successful conman in history, and the most openly corrupt and most prolific pathological liar to ever hold the office of President!
No precept or claim is more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.
